Family effects
Has anyone else found that terminal cancer seems to tear the rest of the family apart. Mine was very close, but as soon as I got the final terminal diagnosis, everyone is arguing about different things to the point some family members can't be in the room with each other. I've also discovered dying seems a lot less about…

Post Vaccine Problems?
Hi, everyone! I am assuming most of us are fully vaccinated by now? I am experiencing weird, off & on, pain in my right arm. I got the shot in my right arm because of lymph node removal on my left. I was fine at first, then I began to feel sharp pains in my right elbow, shoulder and wrist. Sometimes in my right torso area…

Hello WhatNext! I wanted to share a community survey that we put together with the help of the team over at Patient Worthy. The survey covers aspects such as what you like best about WhatNext, what could be improved, added, fixed and more. We're also seeking advice from some of our cancer support and patient group partners…

Cat scan lesions
I have a question. On the last cat scan on 12/5 ther were small lesions, with the largest being 10mm. The oncologist says she will do next cat scan on 2/22 on the same day as round 12 of chemo. So, my question. Is, dont they usually keepcdoong chemo until all spots/lesions/nodules are gone? Had 40% reduction on both…

Am I invisible?
Okay - this is a rant - WHY are my questions never listed on the What Next Digest page? I am serious, they are never there and it is making me feel bad (...of course if this were the worst thing to ever happen to me I will be pretty lucky, lol!) Since Greg's passing I have posted several questions/comments and they have…

Taxotere
I was given Taxotere, I am now permanently bald. I was not allowed to join the law suit that was advertised on TV. The lawsuit stated that Onocolgist’s were not told that this type of chemo would cause baldness. Someone who was handling the lawsuit came to my home took pictures of my head, help me fill out a 30 or more…

Freaky Friday!...or Friendly Friday?
Wait...no one posted a Thankful Thursday site for us to get together? Well, lets remedy that and try Freaky Friday (what has been freaking you out lately?) or Friendly Friday if you just want to check in and say "Hi." (we love that).

Something to think about.
Yesterday I posted a question. Well, to be more accurate, I wrote out a question which I thought would be posted here. I got the pop-up that said - Your question has been posted. but it wasn't posted here (where I wrote it out). Instead it appeared on my wall. On my homepage. And, of course, there was no notice, so no one…

Surgeon comments during needle biopsy?
Did your surgeon/radiologist make any comments about the specimen sample they received during a core biopsy? What did they say? Mine said: -normally, lymph nodes roll around like a marble when trying to insert a needle, but mine was staying put, seemed to be attached to the surface underneath. -something about “I thought…

Thank you LetLifeHappen for the blog posts
In my WhatNext digest email there was notification that LetLifeHappen posted some blogs that were of interest to me. When I chose the Blog menu item on the WhatNext site it did not show me her blogs. I had to search in the people section and go to her page to see them. It was well worth the effort. Is it possible that the…

Have any of you had the covid test?
I knew they put a swab up your nose, but I didn't think it would go that far back and I didn't expect any pain at all from it. The girl told me it would hurt for about 10 seconds, she was NOT wrong. Anyway, all in all, I've had lots worse done to me so far. With this test out of the way, I can have my surgery on Thursday.

Exactly what can we say here?
I am not a fan of vulgarities. I don't use that word that rhymes with duck, although it has become so commonplace it doesn't really shock me to hear it anymore. And I know people who pepper it in their everyday speech the way some people used *darn* so that has kind of defused it's power. If this site does not want us to…

Rested and Restored (The Site)
So, it looks like WhatNext is back up and running. I am so glad to see familiar faces and posters here. I am sorry to see so many people have been going through such hard times when the site was not operating correctly. We were still thinking about you all. This journey seems never ending. I think that's pretty accurate.…

Broken and Sad
Folks, there are a number of people who have been with WhatNext for quite awhile- most have been here far longer than I have. I don't specifically recall how I came to know about the site, but I was so glad to find it in the early days of my diagnosis. I see new folks coming here with new diagnoses, and the lack of support…

Shall we do Thankful Thursday again??
wow, last Thursday's post drew a lot of old friends (and some new ones) and it was great to hear from everyone! Am I *pushing it* to keep it going? Today, I am thankful for the recent little vacation my husband and I had in Mackinaw Island. The weather was chilly, but the Island is a magical place (no cars allowed) -…

feeding tube issue
My email is now Dkatsmeow@outlook.com. Got my 2nd tube replacement 2 days ago. A balloon. It leaks at base horribly. Go thru a surgical pad every hour. Am permanently on feeding tube. Doc says stoma needs to "heal". Any suggestions. New shirt every 2 hrs. Getting annoying.

De-masking in your community?
In the past, when the pandemic began, we had some spirited discussions here about wearing masks. Some were all-timers, and some of us were some-timers. Now that so many have been vaccinated I have noticed my small community becoming more and more unmasked. Stores here have signs now asking for masks UNLESS you have been…

Thankful Thursday?
Shall we try for a Thankful Thursday post today? It might be worth it just to see if we continue to get notifications? It sounds like a lot of us have some heavy things going on in our personal lives and hopefully we can reach out and help each other on this site - like we love to do. Meanwhile I will start us off today…

Have you found that you have continuity of care and does that make your "journey" easier to navigate
I just got a letter from my oncology services management announcing that my THIRD oncologist since starting this journey in 2017 had departed and my next follow-up will be with a new doctor and complete stranger to me. I hate this stuff. I live in a mostly rural area with a small hospital, like so many, struggling to keep…

Saturday Evening Check in
I hope everyone is doing okay. I have been away from the site for a couple of days. I guess my mind just needed a little break. Trying to staff of social media period. Saturday Serenity
I am up early this Saturday and just observing things in the world. At this time when the world seems buzzing, I am reflecting on the quiet things in life. The past year with COVID put us all on lockdown and so many people are ready to resume "life as normal." I am ready for things to feel more "normal" too. I have seen…

Memorial Day memories
Hi, everyone! I have been unable to access this site for the last (almost) month! I will tell you my family stories another time. Is This Over?
When I arrived to WhatNext almost a year and a half ago, this was a thriving community of helpful people with a lot of knowledge and even more heart. No doubt, most of that was due to Greg's encouragement and diligent moderation. He offered so much knowledge and encouragement to all of us. We certainly miss him very much.…
