TNBC chemo
My doctor recommends I start on Trodelvy; need to have port put back in...questioning if I can handle it. Does anyone have experience with this chemo?

Support System
I think those of us who have been around for awhile, whether actively or not, would say we have found support here. Most, if not all, of us who were here before Greg earned his wings would agree that this was a very supportive and active site. I would say it was a very proactive site- always with tips, hints,…

MarcieB suggested we resume sharing what we’re reading. I’ll start, below.

Friendships and Life Circumstances
A lot of us have gotten to know each other pretty well and we do share about other experiences other than our cancer treatment. I think our "whole" lives often affect our cancer treatments and healing and recovery. I recently saw a comment from someone who said this is "STRICTLY" for posting experiences and advice…

Arm Update
Okay, so my disclaimer first- this is not cancer related so if you are going to be bent out of shape by reading something non-cancer related- bail out now or you must accept full responsibility for any offense you incur by reading further. I finally got my referral authorization to see the ortho doctor. My next appointment…

Friendly Friday
Not a question about diagnosis or treatment. Just a check in with everyone here to see how you are doing. I find that just checking in from time to time reminds us all that we are not alone and someone still "sees" us in the times we think we have talked ourselves blue in the face to our family, doctors, et cetera. No…

One more time - To Pill? Or not to Pill?
In Dec, my doctor advised changing my anastrozole to Tamoxifen because I cannot handle the bone meds one has to take with aromatase inhibitors. She said, I had a *complete response* to my chemo so I would be a good candidate to take this drug. I decided to switch, but first I took a pill vacation for over a month. I can't…

Encouragers
I used to do something on my Facebook page that I called "earth angels." It was a way of speaking kindness into someone's day and recognizing them for something positive. Sometimes it was just telling them I loved their laugh. Sometimes it was a thank you for something specific they had done. We all feel a little…

The Final Curtain
It is time to bid all farewell. I am so thankful for the respite and safe haven this site and all of you provided in the early days of my journey. I realize my journey is far from over as we all have to live with the aftermath of our diagnosis for years to come, whether it be recurrence, metastasis, worry and anxiety, or…

Thankful Thursday
It's Wednesday evening in my time zone but I'll put this out there anyway for Thursday. Let's do a Thankful Thursday. What are you thankful for today, uh, tomorrow, uh, on Thursday? You know what I mean.

Continue to have serious sinus and throat problems after only one treatment of Cisplatin on November
All types of blood work has been done even for autoimmune disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Nothing. Dexamethasone steroids at times, has been the only drug that helps. I have a difficult time getting them to relieve the serious sinus and throat blockage. Allergy testing and three different ENT doctors no help either.…

Health Dichotomy
As we begin 2022, we start yet another year with yet another strain of COVID. It seems to be the chronic problem that will never exit our lives. Perhaps the fear of COVID is the chronic problem that will never exit our lives. I want to be sunshine and rainbows, but feel like Eeyore and black clouds. With the exception of…

Medical marijuana
My fiance has been having chemo since Aug 2020. A year on oxaliplatin and now on irinotecan. He has also been taking capecitabine the whole time. His stomach cramping on the irinotecan has been debilitating and he has no appetite. We are thinking of marijuana to help. Anyone else here try marijuana to help with side…

New Year New Thoughts
I hope 2022 has come in well for all of you. Happy New Year. I wish all of you the very best this year- whether that comes in the form of remission, slowed progress of disease, new family members, grand celebrations. If this year is looking a little less grand than I hope, then I wish you peace and support to get through…

Happy New Year Wishes!
I am just writing to say I hope everyone on this site has a good year ahead. I know we are all struggling with various things - I, for one am trying to make a decision whether or not to switch to tamoxifen(instead of anastrozole) because of my bones...more on that another time. And I am sad to learn of a childhood friend I…

What is Everyone Doing to make the Season Bright?
The Holiday season is in full swing, so what is everybody doing? Unfortunately, a Christmas tree doesn't ward off bad vibes...I daresay we have all known some tough yuletides and I sincerely hope this year isn't one of them for you. I have two friends dealing with a recent heavy diagnosis and one who is still reeling from…

Thankful Thursday
I don't know if anyone will see this but, if so... How about if we do a Thankful Thursday? What are you thankful for today? I'll start us off. We saw the docs on Tuesday and they said my husband's latest MRI scans are good. We are so grateful.

Leg Cramps?
I saw my PA today and I am fine (yay!). We talked about a lot of things, but, when I told her I have leg cramps (Charlie horse stuff) at night, she advised me to try tonic water before I go to bed. It's the quinine that should help and I only need about a half a glass. I will let you all know if this works! So far, not…

Estrogen question
Recently I read an article about the latest findings in a quest to understand alzheimer's. One of the points made was the observation that women are more vulnerable to the disease when their estrogen levels drop. (?!) So, here we are, taking anastrozole, and other estrogen blocking drugs to decrease our chances of…

Surveys
After 8 years I'm still getting survey emails. I don't qualify for most of them but it gives me an extra $40 to $100 every couple of months. If you're interested in taking them go to focusgroup.com and fill out some details about yourself so they know which survey's to send your way. I remember when I first joined whatnext…
