What were the 3 worst shopping issues you had in COVID? Did it change anything in how you do things
start looking for the replacement. Last night my son said, we need yellow mustard. The 3 things we had the most trouble finding was---flour---bread---laundry soap. At WalMart I found a torn- 10# bag of flour, and 2 women began offering me money for it. They stopped at $15. I had to have that because I couldn't find any…

Dealing with unsupportive family
My in-laws are making me feel that I am being dramatic in wanting to prevent myself from catching small colds, viruses. Non are vaccinated and think that since I'm not in treatment that it can't "really be all that bad". I have a PET scan on Friday and I don't think they understand the fear that I am going through. They…

Had My Second Shot- Moderna
I had my second shot today. My arm is super sore, but I keep watching to make sure it's not reddening or swelling. I keep moving it to keep range of motion and not let it get too bad. I don't feel like I am run over by a freight train. Most people I have known have said it usually starts about 3-4 hours after the shot if…

Tuesday's question - am I the only covid slob?
We are vaccinated and my husband's son, who has been working in Ukraine for the past two years is coming to visit with his family. I am very excited to see them because there are three grandchildren coming, ages 10,8, and 7. - which I plan to HUG! So...I am digging out my spare bedroom which became a total mess during the…

What Feels Scariest?
Scans? Oncologist follow-ups? Other medical doctor follow-ups? Right now, it all feels so nerve-wracking to me. I just want to go back to blissful ignorance when I could convince myself I was just being a hypochondriac and worrying about things that I felt or thought. Around the time of 9/11 (THE 9/11), my husband was…

Has anyone had a doctor claim your positive pet scan as a false-positive, without doing biopsy?
I have had nearly every symptom of lymphoma since last summer & have been fighting with doctors to find out what’s going on. I finally had a PET scan that lit up my cervical & axillary nodes between 3.5 to 5 SUVmax with a liver suv 3.5. so I thought I was finally getting a biopsy, but nope! Hematologist walks in and says,…

Thankful Thursday
Hi, everyone. I am especially thankful these days and it encouraged me to start a Thankful Thursday post. About ten days ago my husband suffered a brain bleed. He was in ICU for several days. He has some residual issues but, in general, seems to be doing well. We're taking it one day at a time. So I'm thankful my husband's…

Anybody else having trouble with Chrome signing you out of WN , citing security?
It pitts me off. I have this problem here and with Country Doctor on Wordpress. I do not have trouble with other sites at all. I am talking about Instagram, bulk food companies-(COVID)- and other commercial enterprises. O My DAWG---these companies associated with Chrome and Google won't let me buy, unless I give them my…

Couldn't post on the ? of getting WN-so here I am
Now, I get something from WhatNext about every 3 months. I wonder if it is because I'm a head cancer patient, as Greg was also a head cancer patient. Most people have other types of cancers. I guess I'm spoiled, but it would really be nice to get-whatever you call it-like this at least once a month.

Can you put a price on an extended period of time added to your life?
I didn't think so either, but then we got the hospital bill for my laryngectomy surgery. So, the best I can add it up so far, we are pushing $500K and the number it says I owe is 164,000.00. First things first, I wonder if they take checks? I'll just fire one off to them and take care of that. Second, the "extended period…

How good are you at playing "bite your tongue" when someone says something about your cancer?
I'm talking about people that are close to you, like an in-law, brother, sister, mom, dad, but one of those that you really don't want to release the flying monkeys on? My MIL is very opinionated and she tends to push her opinions on me about my cancer, which she knows nothing about but pretends to be a world-renowned…

Off the Rails
Okay, this site has gone completely off the rails. I feel certain it is because of a comment that was read and received in a manner that was not at all what was intended. Nonetheless, we are where we are. I feel that my presence here is more toxic than the most offensive chemotherapy. I am not saying this because I am hurt…

Something light
Gosh, there is so much going on! I really think we all have CTS (current traumatic stress syndrome!) with all the shut downs and failing business going on around us and it's the holidays, for darn sakes! I am heartbroken to miss seeing my grandchildren, they are growing every minute and we can't get this time back. But it…

Go To Tuesday
I don't think I am the Tuesday floater, but I wanted to try to get some conversation going. You don't have to answer all (or any) of these, but just something to think about. Just something to perk up our minds to think of positive things. I think we have all developed some "go to" activities that we enjoy when we can't…

Staying Safe- What is it really?
In another thread I mentioned that our county has relaxed their mask mandate. I did say I hope it is a success because it will make it a little less unpleasant to be outside during the hot humid summer that is approaching. Heck, for several days last week, it had already arrived. So if it's been that hot in early April-…

Hello WhatNext! I wanted to pop in again and introduce myself for those that may not have been on in a while. Wondering Wednesday
I have been wondering about some of the people who used to be quite active on the site. Has anyone heard from @JaneA?@Po18guy?@Lynne-I-Am?@Jayne? I know there used to be so many active members here. I miss the information and the chit chat.

Renal Cell Carcinoma
How very sad to come back each day and see our community falling apart. I hate to admit that I can't see how we can keep this going. All of Greg's devotion gone. I pray that each and every one of us improves and are able to enjoy the time given us. God Bless.

SITE ANNOUNCEMENT: Feedback
I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has reached out to provide feedback so far. I know there has been some uncertainly about WhatNext and some of you have reached out directly to ask questions, so I want to give some insight into what I've been told. As the community knows best, Greg's passing left many unanswered…

To anyone who has been diagnosed: biomarker testing?
I work for Health Literacy Media, a nonprofit that writes clear health information to help people make informed health decisions. We write summaries of the results from clinical trials to help patients understand them. We've recently written a summary on a clinical trial for people with lung cancer. We need people who have…

Fun Friday
Does anyone have something fun planned for the weekend? Our county eliminated mask mandates but some municipalities still have it. So it will be interesting to see how this first mask free weekend goes. I hope we don’t end up with lots of new COVID cases. I hope it’s a success. Not because I am ideologically opposed to…
