This site has come loose from its moorings again and seems to be floating away into oblivion.

It is sad to me that we are always bound to enter a specific diagnosis to ask a question. I think there are a great many questions we all have and maybe they are about cancer in general. Maybe they are about COVID, or life, or just coping with today.

I think a lot of questions get overlooked because we are tied in to the "diagnosis."

Anyhow, I would hope that people would come back to this site. As it appears that the USA is drawing ever closer to another lockdown, we may all need to be each other's sanity again pretty soon.

We all did pretty well keeping each other company last year and in the first few months of this year.

I am not fit to be leader because I didn't go through a protracted battle with the dreaded cancer monster. I am woefully ignorant on most things. People, please start posting and get this site going.

I think anyone diagnosed with a cancer can be a leader here, but that’s not our job, it’s the mod’s job (as you know). Since this site is floating away, I guess we’ll float with it as long as we can.

Legaljean- I also didn't have a long protracted battle with cancer-unless one considers spending 28 years trying to get flight surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, dermatologists, ENTs, family practice drs, dentists to remove a visible cancer just above my lip. While a skin cancer, the 28 years morphed it into a very deadly and rare cancer-with a survival rate of about 18 months to 3 years. OK since everybody died or committed suicide, I refused traditional care. I did take up an experimental radiation, partly because I was told and signed papers that I knew I had a 50% chance of dying from the radiation. I had 6 weeks of radiation, and for some reason I am cancer free. AMCS now has a pic of this cancer before it becomes a very painful killer. It also gives my description of it to doctors and the public-a pimple that never comes to a head and it stays there month after month. If you have a pimple that looks ripe or almost ripe, no pain, no irritation, no change--get in and get it removed.

So, I don't know anything much about other cancers- don't know about the long haul treatments, nothing about ports or chemo, but like the rest, including you, I do know the fear of the word "CANCER" and the possibility of disfigurement and death.

Basically Colby has neglected this site so much that it is so damaged that it is scary. I think it's safe to say that 99.9% of us came here for safety, support, and comfort. I know that I did.

Meyati, I knew, of course, about your horrific experience with a very deadly and scary cancer that doctors didn’t take seriously. I’d say that you certainly *did* have a protracted battle.

Colby may be MIA (or MIN-A: Missing in Non-Action), but until this site is no longer here, we’re all keeping it going. And I apologize for being MIA myself recently.
