Keytruda
Didn’t know what to expect as far as side effects. Sis in law going through same treatment and is one treatment ahead of me. Starting to have mouth sores. What is best way to prevent or treat?
-
What did you learn?
After you ‘finished treatments(surgery, radiation, chemo, immunotherapy)? Looking back, what did you learn?
-
Found 2 digests in Spam folder
Also all the highlighted areas I used to click on to take me to areas of interest to me in the digest don't work. It just highlights them lighter.

Elavated liver enzymes
Minimal side affects after the first 2 immunotherapy treatments and zero after the 3rd. I go for my 4th tomorrow. I have noticed that my liver enzyme levels (ALT & AST) have been gradually rising and are considered elevated. My Oncologist does blood work before each treatment and has not raised this to me. I saw my Family…

October book question
Hi! Anyone have any books to recommend as we head into early darkness and reading by the fire? LOL (I, for one, have only my inner fire!)? I’m reading a compilation of ghost stories by M.R. James, titled “Curious Warnings.” For those unfamiliar with his writing and him, he was an English Victorian scholar and a writer of…

Hi, everyone! Its been a long time. How about a Thankful Thursday post?

September book question: what are you reading?
Hi! It’s the first of the month. What books are you reading? Recommend? Thanks!

An excellent article
This debunks the “be positive” mantra often still given to people diagnosed with a cancer:…

THAT is the question!
The question is; Where can we find the questions? I know we have all had our frustrations with this site since Greg left the helm, but I honestly think it is almost back to being the WN we have come depend upon. The notifications are back, the Digest announcements are back, we are not getting spam (that I have seen?) I…

Outlived Usefulness
It's obvious this site is never going to be what it was before Greg's passing. He was a kind soul who devoted a lot of time to this site to make it work as we all liked. We all miss him very much and I wish we were strong enough to make this site work, but so many left when he passed and now it seems all that happens is…

Dropped On Our Heads
So have we been left to languish again? Or is everyone just enjoying summer and the ability to roam the earth freely again?

Anyone out there?
It's pretty quiet these last few days. Just checking in to say hello.

Support for survivors with ongoing medical issues
I wasn't prepared for what post-treatment would be like. In the 12 months after I finished my consolidation treatment, I broke both of my ankles at separate times. I had also just split from my wife, so I was living alone and felt that my cancer never really went away, when it did.

sidelined
I will be reading frequently but not posting often for the rest of this week or maybe the next few weeks. I fell today at lunch and injured my left wrist (thankfully not my right since I am right handed). I thought it was just sprained (and that may still be the case) so I tried urgent care. Let me tell you, Urgent Care in…

Earth Angels
I will resume my earth angels when I can type better. There are many of you!!

Who’s On First-2021 edition
A friend shared with me. I’m going to put in another answer so it gets the who’s thing.

Hair Dye?
I just read a blog posted by letlifehappen that deals with all the extra chemicals we are exposed to these days and how they can increase our hormone levels. For those of us with hormone driven cancers, this is a bit scary. The blog said some of the chemicals, which act as aromatase activators are found in personal care…

What We Say
Since I am on this kick to be an encourager right now, I was reading an answer I had posted on a thread to JustGrateful way back in May 2020. I guess I was still in kick butt mode, pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I meant my post to be encouraging and empowering. Now that I look back on what I wrote, it sounds…

I am 8 years out from invasive ducal ER/PR positive breast cancer. I just found out St. John’s Wort contains phytoestrogens. Should I be taking SJW?

Encore
I don't have the "street cred" that a lot of you have. I haven't gone through chemotherapy. I didn't even have to have radiation, thanks to a great surgeon who acted quickly to remove the cancerous tissue she found in my breast. I often feel unworthy to post anything or share my experience because my road was not full of…

August 2021 Book Club Question
Hi! What are you reading now and/or what books do you recommend?

post vaccine Covid
For those of you who think the vaccine is a magic bullet - it is not. My husband and I were fully vaccinated and both of us got it. To be fair - we were exposed to it for quite a while from family members who were staying with us, but still - there it is. We had light cases. I only had a slight fever for about 4 days, some…

Greg's Kindle Book
Has anyone read Greg's detailed Kindle book? I wonder if it should be published as a hard copy.

What are we reading?
When I was diagnosed, friends gave me *cancer advice/experience* books to read while having my infusions. Forget that - I wanted novels! I wanted all kinds of fiction from autobiographies, to Stephen King's epic thrillers. I am a reader. Many people who had already been done the treatment path told me I would not be able…

Thankful Thursday
Hi, everyone. How about a Thankful Thursday? I had my annual mammogram last week and got a call back. I went back yesterday for more views and an ultrasound. The doctor believes the issue is just calcifications and wants me to come back in six months for a follow up. Well, I'm not ecstatic about that but I know the news…

Come As You Are
Good news and bad news? Let's hear it/see it. It seems our "leadership" doesn't care so let's be the strong people I know we are and lay it out there for congratulations and/or support. Good news is I have finally found some tops that I really like that don't seem to require constant adjustments to make those parts of me…

Calling All WhatNext'ers.
This site has come loose from its moorings again and seems to be floating away into oblivion. It is sad to me that we are always bound to enter a specific diagnosis to ask a question. I think there are a great many questions we all have and maybe they are about cancer in general. Maybe they are about COVID, or life, or…
