Radiation experience
I’ve just been told that my lung cancer has metastasized to two spots in my brain and I will need radiation. So I feel a little blindsided right now. I’m looking to learn what others might have experienced. Thanks for any input.

Finling supplemental policy claims
I am disgusted with how the insurance companies have turned into places that try to not pay a claim first, then make you prove that they owe it or owe more before they pay what they should. I have a cancer policy that I lucked out and bought just before my 3rd diagnosis. We have wore that thing out! I recently sent in an…

Have any of you done this? I know there are nutrient requirements, I've read some recipes that are quite involved and some of the things that are part of the recipes are amazing that I wouldn't have thought of for protein. I'm going to try a few things to supplement the commercial formula. I'm just curious about what you…

Do you have a new side effect every day?
Or, at least find something new every day that you want to blame on the treatment or the cancer? All of them are not really side effects but at least we have something to blame them on. But it seems like every day I find myself saying,"now what"?

I'm worried about not getting treatments!
As this pandemic keeps chugging along forward, I'm seeing more and more hospitals, clinics, and treatment centers that have stopped seeing patients. Right now I can still go to mine but I have to go through a screening process each time to check my temp and answer a bunch of questions, but I'm OK with that. I'm just afraid…

Being prepared
Or not being prepared. In 2013 I underwent surgery for my thyroid cancer. I was also told I have metastasis of Thyroid cancer in my lungs. This September we are addressing the nodules because they have continued to grow. Both lungs are involved , and there are multiple nodules. Apparently I am not mentally prepared right…

Have you wondered why you are still here hanging on to life while so many others around you have fal
I can't help but have a little survivor's guilt every time I hear about someone that I know who has been diagnosed, fought it but died. Some go quick, others fight for years before finally being taken. I know it's huge question with some deep thought and debate. It just gets to me every now and then. What do you think?

Am I the only one who has lost all patience?
I get frustrated quickly when a nurse can't do something, or when an appointment gets messed up. It seems like I am always having to correct someone. I almost need a sedative.

Possible skin cancer???
I've been seeing a dermatologist for months regarding lesions on my face that won't heal. Every time I see him he comes up with a new theory and prescribed a new medication. Some of them did finally heal but one, on my cheek, just keeps flairing back up. It itches like crazy, sometimes feels like someone is sticking…

Long time survivor tips?
CovidCancer recently asked if there were any/many long term survivors *out there* and at least 17 of you replied! I have a feeling there are even more who have not responded. It is so encouraging. And it has prompted me to wonder if there is any special thing you might be doing that maybe you suspect could be helping? Of…

Waiting for a hurricane?
On top of the virus issues and scheduling my ct scan , now I’m anxiously waiting for this hurricane to decide where it’s going to go. Is anyone one else in the path? I’m on the coast of N.C. where it’s headed. No evacuation is ordered yet but they aren’t planning to open any shelters because of the virus. Guess we’ll…

I am going to have to have another throat surgery after a recurrence.

Trach or stoma suction. Have any of you had to do this on a regular basis?
I am having to run a suction tube a few inches down into my stoma, however far it takes to reach a chunk of mucus that is giving me a problem, and suck it out. It was a little unnerving to start with, but I'm getting used to doing it. I am hoping that whatever is causing this overload of mucus will stop with a little time.

Strange smells and tastes after surgery.
Each surgery that I've had since Dec. I've noticed a strange smell and different tastes that seem to emanate from within me. It's a strange thing, I can imagine it like a piece of plastic "something" has been placed inside of me and when I breathe, swallow, or move air in/out/around, I can smell it. Have any of you ever…

An immunotherapy question for anyone that has been on it.
Yesterday I started feeling the first of what I am thinking are my side effects. I have started feeling a lot of pain around the two tumors in my neck.
