The Best of Times/The Worst of Times
This past year has been a strange one for all of us. As we end this year with two holidays known for togetherness, thankfulness and hope- I wanted to focus on the random things that have made this year work. I want to focus on the people and the actions that have drawn us back to sanity in the days when we all seem to be…

The Only Thing Certain is Change
I have been in a job situation where I feel like I am swimming against the tide. It has been that way for about four years. My supervising attorney is 82 and just does not want to retire or admit he is ready to do so. I think the reality of time is setting in on him. He has been so accommodating during my cancer journey.…

Things have been quiet lately
How is everyone? Since we lost Greg, there hasn't been much activity on the board. Everyone doing OK?

how do you delete a post you made in a hurry and NOT delete your account and have to start over?
I went to WhatNext Home page and came up with no answer on how to delete. Maybe there is no deleting? I guess you have to be sure you won't regret sharing. They were overly long and I did 2 Updates. It was then that right after my updates I saw the picture of Greg P and learned he had passed away. I had recently started…

I am no longer homebound!
The wound care specialist has officially released me from care. I'll be wearing a dry dressing for awhile yet. She said probably I should be healed enough to do without it by Thanksgiving. Thought I'd share my good news. I've come a long way since the end of June and that stupid wound vac!

Closing In On Year 1 of Diagnosis
Today, I finally had my actual fitting for my post-surgical bra and prosthesis. I found out that my insurance will pay for me to have a custom prosthetic made, so I got scanned and measured for that today. I felt like things are finally moving forward. Next Tuesday is my mammogram and the following Monday a meeting with my…

Thankful Thursday in Honor of Greg
Hi, everyone. I ran across an old Thankful Thursday post of Greg's. In it he said there is always, always something to be thankful for. Well, I'm still grieving the loss of our dear friend. But, I thought in his honor, how about if we do a Thankful Thursday post? I'm thankful for Greg and all of you. It was a beautiful day…

Have you had your flu shot yet?
Experts believe that mid-September through late October is the ideal time to get your flu shots. My hubby and I will be getting ours next week. What about all of you?

Lyymphadema of the face.
Apparently. What I have is lymphadema making my face swell up. I haven't had a chance to see the doctor yet and won't for 2 more weeks. I'll ask more questions then. In the meantime, has anyone here had it. How do you go about massaging it to help it drain?

Greg's progress
I don't come on very often but for some reason thought of Greg today. It's good to see everyone being so supportive. Of course, why wouldn't he get all this support. I'm sure he's feeling all the love. Hope his hospital stay is short and is able to get home soon.

Thank you, Greg. An Inspiration, A Fighter, A Survivor
I haven't been active recently on What Next, but am an old-timer. So I've known Greg for many years; read his insightful & encouraging posts, & followed his amazing, inspiring story of survivorship. I am heart-broken that cancer has taken him from us, and more importantly his family, friends & loved ones. We have learned…

Prayers for Greg
I usually check out the What's Next Digest when I first open my computer, and I am always a little disappointed when it skips a day. But, now, I find myself being disappointed when there is still no post from Greg. It has been 20 days since he left a word here about the stomach tube craziness. I know we are ALL concerned…

Trelstar
Hi All, I'm trying to get any info on Trelstar. Due to the shortage of Lupron Depot my Oncologist wants me to start taking it. I've been on Lupron for 4 1/2 yrs. I was hoping to be off of it. My Ca27.29 us up and down. I'm use to being 41 or 42. I've gone up to 67, had pet scans. watched everything I did. Got it down to…

CT results
I promised I'd add in my CT results. Had a virtual appt with my oncologist this morning. Looks good. There are a couple of areas we'll keep an eye one -- diaphragm and right adrenal gland -- but we've been keeping an eye on those since 2012. I forget what exactly is up with the diaphragm. I've known about the cyst on top…

Not Forgotten
We all tend to get focused on certain situations at times and lose sight of the forest as we concentrate on the trees. Our world is a mixed up and crazy place right now. Things can feel awfully bleak, but most of us have learned some good coping skills. As we focus on some pressing problems, don't forget that all of us…

Lymphedema discomfort
My arm is always throbbing. I see no outward signs of blood clots. Massage taught to me by a therapist does not help. The sleeve does not help. Is this just my new normal? I am very puffy next to the arm pit area as well. Thanks for listening to my lament!

Missing Greg's Posts and Praying He's Okay
Donna, would you give us an update if Greg isn't up to it? Or Jane, it seems you keep in touch with him outside of these posts - have you heard how he's doing? Or ... anyone else who knows ... update, please? Prayers that they are finding a solution to his feeding tube issues and any other problems he's been encountering.

Medication question
I know we are all sidetracked with Greg's illness and hospitalization. However, MelindaLV wrote in 4 days ago asking the community about TREISTAR and anything you may know about it. I told her that I had no knowledge of it and that I was confident that someone would know something and would respond. I was wrong, she's not…
