What do you you know about wearing head coverings, hats, etc during the hot weather.
It seems to me the added heat wouldn't be good. What do you think?

Do you have an emergency evacuation plan?
Given the wildfires in the West and hurricanes on the Southeastern coast, do you have an evacuation plan? Have you thought about packing an emergency bag with essential supplies? Do you have an emergency cache of medical supplies? Insulin and needles, ostomy supplies, salves and lotions... This is a good time to think…

All of this staying at home and watching a ton of TV has led to an interesting thing.
I can now tell you all of the new drugs out on the market, who makes them, and the problems they are supposed to fix. Just a strange benefit of being on lockdown.

New issues every day. It seems like when I wake up I sort of wate a little while to decide how I'm d
Every morning someone will ask, even if it's after I've only been up for a short amount of time, how I'm doing. I can't answer for a couple of hours because it seems like every day there is a new issue, a new side effect, or something to deal with. I told someone that it's sort of like being on a game show and every…

oxaliplatin cold sensitivity
How long does it take before you feel cold sensitivity? My husband had his first chemo on Wednesday and had no cold sensations. He finally just had to try and see if he had a sensitivity and touched a can of coke in the refrigerator and had no issues, so he took a drink of chocolate commendation nothing. It was my…

I was reading an article about a young man applying for a job, he was questioning one of the cliche`
"Where do you see yourself in 5 years"? While I was reading I started thinking about myself in that same situation. lots of things would have probably prevented me from getting that job. Age, health, my lack of enthusiasm for starting another carrier at my age, etc. But the first and biggest issue that came to mind was…

Just a survey type question. We are sitting here in the infusion room getting my Keytruda and out at
like a baby shower is going on. Lots if laughing, joking, and carrying on. It sounds like they are having a good day. My question is: Do you think its great that they are all yapping, yapping, yelling and having fun while some people feel crappy and just want to go home Do you not care one way or the other. Do you want to…

I'm having infusion this morning and this sweet little old lady gets wheeled in to the next booth. S
The tech that is trying to get an iv started was just as calm and easy as he could be. She said when she sat down that it was usually an ordeal to get an idea started. He poked a couple times and couldn't find a vein. She was obviously hurting. My question is simple, why does she not have a port? It's obvious she needs one.

Have you ran into the nutrition problem/side effect of cancer and treatments yet?
In each of my diagnoses, I've lost at least 25 pounds, this time it's only been 25. But it' hard to keep the weight on right now. I'm on a feeding tube so it's hard to squeeze enough into the feeding tube to keep up. Our blog post today has some good information about this, I'll have to go put some of these to use today.…

Body hair, other than on your head.
I'm not complaining about not having to shave a few spots, but I'm just curious about how long this will last before I have to start that back up again?

Do you think that the people in general have lost all patience, lack of morals and what's right?
It's gotten to the point that I don't even want to go out and be around anyone. Face it, we are getting farther and farther in the hole and if we don't all start turning it around we are going to lose about half of a generation. I want to grab some of these young people by the collar and shake them around a little bit.

Purging the Past
I feel sure I am NOT the only one that has strong memories related to scents and sights, et cetera. I could be wrong. Last night I purged my counters and closets of objects in my direct or regular sight line, mostly ridding myself of scents and sights that seemed to make me think of my diagnosis and surgery and immediate…

One of my issues is still with me with no improvement, the fluid on or behind my left ear.
The ENT clinic where I get the clinical trial drug injection looked at it again this week and suggested that if it hasn't cleared by the next visit in 2 weeks he will poke a hole in my eardrum for it to drain. I'm sure that sounds worse than it really is. But has anyone had this done? Is this the same thing that kids…

How is everyone doing with the pandemic?
I live in Georgia, and our state now has the highest rate of infection of any state (according to the Washington Post and reported today in the Atlanta Journal). So I'm erring on the side of caution and continue to order groceries for pick-up only. How is everyone managing?

Finling supplemental policy claims
I am disgusted with how the insurance companies have turned into places that try to not pay a claim first, then make you prove that they owe it or owe more before they pay what they should. I have a cancer policy that I lucked out and bought just before my 3rd diagnosis. We have wore that thing out! I recently sent in an…
