3rd UPDATE
When I last left off, my lung biopsy was xcld the day before because of the collapse risk. But my Oncologist when called by the Interventional Radiologist that was scheduled to do it, arranged for a Consult with a Dr. of Thoracic Surgery about an hour from me. It was only a week's notice which can be a problem when the…

Lymphedema?
I am curious about lymphedema? Here are things I would like to know: 1 - If you have it, what were your early symptoms? 2 - Can it be prevented? Are there exercises that can help? 3 - Does a compression sleeve help? If so, where do you get one? I have had lymph nodes removed and am therefore curious about this possible…

Being THAT person
After a rough time with new building tenants (new owner), I have been asking for key to the equipment room to be returned for almost a week. I am asst. to the building manager. My supervisor was on my tail to get it back so I was being very persistent. Yesterday, the person who had the key emailed me and asked if I could…

Gone Too Young
I just found out one of my friends from grade school lost his son to brain cancer in early December. My heart breaks for my friends that they lost their son, but after reading his obituary, it is clear that he squeezed every minute out of his life and that he had the same love of life as his parents. We all knew each other…

Renal Cell Carcinoma
UPDATE - Yesterday was not a good day. I was getting ready to go to my Podiatrist when I received a call from the hospital where my lung biopsy was to have been done today. The nurse said that the Interventional Radiologist who was to handle the biopsy took another look at the CT and PET scan. Since the area in question…

Asking for a friend
A good friend was diagnosed recently with invasive lobular cancer. The treatment they came up with is MRI to see if it spread to lymphs, removal of cancer, chemo, rads. She is stage 1A, the size is 5mm. This seems like overkill; what do you all think?

I'm baackkk!!!
I guess I'm guilty of taking a leave of absence from the group. I've logged on several times to see what was going on but didn't comment at all. I think this pandemic has finally gotten to me. I have no idea why as when there was no pandemic, I didn't go out very much. I guess just knowing that I can't is what upsets me.…

Mouth sores from chemotherapy
My sister-in-law's sister has lung cancer. She was diagnosed earlier and had radiation. It has returned and is undergoing chemotherapy. She has mouth sores that are painful. When I had chemotherapy I remember my mouth being tender, but didn't have sores. What are some things that worked for others.

Leaving It In The Past
I wanted to wish my friends here at WhatNext one last good wish for 2020. I plan to stay up to make sure 2020 departs and 2021 arrives safely. This day, though hopeful for a better 2021, has been a hard one to get through for me. On New Year's Eve last year, I was meeting with my radiation and medical oncologists to…

Christmas Music
So to keep things light- or to focus on the season- I was wondering about the favorite songs for certain people. I think we all have favorites and probably lots of different ones. Some of my favorites are O Holy Night (it always brings tears to my eyes when the entire song is done); I'll Be Home for Christmas (mostly one…

Christmas Miracle
I need one. We are supposed to have our first "Family Christmas" in years with my brother and his family and my parents. Yes, I complain about my family but Thanksgiving went way better than I thought. My mother had to take my father to the hospital today. She thought he was having a stroke, very disoriented and talking…

Wimped Out
I did something the other day I haven't done in a long time. I was in an exercise class- small group personal training. It was high intensity and I was invited in by a neighbor who goes to my gym. The trainer said it was fine too. So I decided to try it out. I wanted to go all in, full throttle. I just couldn't keep up.…

Posted Wrong PIcture
I posted a picture last night about being thankful for the things that don't go well. I didn't mean to post that. I don't really know where it came from, but I deleted it as the status update and will try to delete from the pinboard as well if it showed up there.

Good morning all, I recently started chemo and one of the hardest side effects I’ve Ben dealing with is severe neuropathy in my feet. I’m going to ask my oncologist about it when I see him today. But I am wondering if you have dealt with this issue what did you find helps. I’ve lost a lot of good nights sleep because of…
