Every morning someone will ask, even if it's after I've only been up for a short amount of time, how I'm doing. I can't answer for a couple of hours because it seems like every day there is a new issue, a new side effect, or something to deal with.

I told someone that it's sort of like being on a game show and every morning I walk into the kitchen and spin the big wheel of side effects to see what I've won today.

Does anyone else have new issues that pop up each day, serious or mild, either way?

My side effects pretty much stayed the same through the year that I was in treatment. What sort of new things are popping up? Have you talked to your oncologist about quality of life issues? They might could make a slight reduction in the dose of your chemo that would help you.

My husband doesn't have cancer, but he does have several health issues. He likes to wait until he's been up a while, too, to decide how he feels.

Yes, I still have them 15 years out from my original DX. I have been dealing with a very painful fissure that won't seem to heal and the docs are treating me like a bonifide drug addict since I keep asking for pain pills while we try to determine why this thing won't correct itself. Some days are tougher than others - as the Navy Sealy say "the only easy day was yesterday" - hang in and I love your analogy to the wheel of side effects - it's so true!

It can have a major impact. For me, I will religiously do a colonoscopy every 5 years and eat much healthier. As far as any side effects, I took vitamins after chemo to get rid of neuropathy.
