Ok, I'm back

It's easier for me to mess with y'all from my work computer, and today is my first day back to work. Since I'm working from home, insurance still considers me homebound, so I won't have any problems continuing with my home healthcare nurse. I still have a wound vac and need dressing changes 3 days a week (waiting for her to show up now...). Once the big ol' wound (massive surgical incision) heals up, I'll be back to chemo since they found cancer cells when they were rooting around in there. My CA125 is a lot lower than when I was originally diagnosed. Back then it was over 200. Now it's 40, which isn't that much over the base of 35. So I'm hoping that means we caught it early. I won't know exactly what we are doing for another few weeks. Healing. Eating protein. Sigh. I hate wound vacs...

Good to hear from you! But all the rest...ick. If you were not a survivor, you would, in no way, have made it this far. Keep up the good work - vac or no vac.0

YAY!!!! So glad that you (apparently) feel up to returning to work, albeit from home, still ... and that you can come back to see us more frequently now I am hoping and praying that the cancer has been caught early, too!!!! And that the wound from the surgery will soon be healed. Welcome back!0

Overall, that sounds like pretty good news. I've never had a wound vac, but I've heard that they are the pits.0

Good to hear from you Shelby, I was wondering about you. I know how these things go, either you healed right up and are ready for the volleyball court, or things didn't go as planned and you now have two more procedures to do. We are glad you're on the healing side.0

I am glad to hear you are starting to be on the mend. Don't let work drive you too crazy. It's nice to be able to work from home, but try to remember that you are still healing and you must be patient with yourself.
I am sorry to hear they found something when they were rooting around in there, but glad they found it and took it out.
Lots of good wishes for speedy healing.0 -
Good to hear some of your spunk back in your "voice," Shelby. Sorry you're facing chemo, but early is good.0

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. Don't let work stress you out. That is awesome about your CA125 numbers. We always like hearing that kind of news. Take care.0

Ugh, I hear you on the wound vac - it IS the pits! I actually had a wound vac nurse come to the house and try to selll me a water based "cancer cure" that was only available through a trusted source - HER! If I had an ounce of energy back then, I would have reported her but the wound vac just takes things to a new level in your tolerance abilities. I hope that becomes a thing of the past for you - and soon! I second everyone telling you to take it slow going back to work. Work is a necessary evil but your health, energy and healing are the most important things right now. Take good care and welcome back!0

Oh, Jsyne... Bad nurse! Bad! Bad!!! I've seen several nurses plu a couple home health PT and OTs. None of em played that game. It only hurts when I move and is massively disrupting my sleep. Otherwise the wound vac is great. The deepest point of the wound was 5.5cm and the mesh from the hernia repair was visible. It's down to 3.0, so I'm getting there. Sigh.0

Wishing you are heading away from the stress.
Sleep deprivation does wreak havoc. Sounds like the mesh is working.0 -
I was just thinking about you recently. Good to hear from you. It's good to have you back messing with us, too. The wound vac only hurts when you move and is massively disrupting your sleep. Geez, sounds like a ton of fun. Sigh. Hang in there.0

Woohoo , YOUR BACK!!! You have been one missed lady. Crap on all that you have recently been through . I hope your wound heals fast , the wound vac is soon in the rear view and any treatments going forward are a complete success. Look forward to continuing contributions from you on WhatNext.0

BuckeyeShelby -- So glad to see you are back!! As the others said just try to take it easy even though you've got work to do from home. I have no experience with a wound vac and from what I am hearing I'll pass if given the choice. Many thoughts and prayers going your way for a speedy recovery.0
