I don't think I can do it again.

Oh, how crushing! My heart goes out to you, Willsurvive. I have no advice for you, only empathy as you process this awful development.0

Very sorry to hear this. On the upside is that treatment is a very dynamic environment. Just wondering if doctor is checking into clinical trials? In 12 years, I have been in four of them, and they are the reason I am still here. As to our strength, it depends on our will. One way to look at it is that we fight because we love and are loved - that alone can provide the strength we need.0

I'm so sorry to hear this, Willsurvive. Your info indicates you were diagnosed almost eight years ago and finished active treatment more than five years ago. Please know that there are advances in science and medicine all the time. Maybe there are new or other options now. Whatever you decide to do, we're here for you. Let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.0
-
Of course you don't.
That would be my first thought also - probably every single person here would agree. Give yourself some time to process this new thing in your story before you make a decision. Bug is so right to point out how quickly things change and advance in the medical world. And possible clinical trials could be an encouraging option? I hope you will grieve your disappointment, then hear everyone out - your doctors, your family, and let it *perc* for a while. I know all of us here are rooting for you.0 -
Yes. We are all rooting for you. Definitely never the news any of us want to hear. Maybe there are some clinical trials that can be of help, or at least advancements in treatment since your last bout.
I wish there were a way that some of us could communicate better privately, but with the recent string of spam/inappropriate posts- it seems things need to get/stay tightened up. I hate that people take advantage of these boards.
I will say some extra prayers for you. Man this just stinks. As others have said, just take a little time to think on it and consider all of the options.
Much love and some virtual (socially distanced COVID FREE) hugs to you.0 -
The others have said all that I would have said. I support their advice 100%. I'm in the same position of having a recurrence. I'm not happy about it either. And I realize that this time, after all the new advances in treatment from when I was first diagnosed, I'm optimistic that amongst the new treatments, that there will be one for me. Give yourself time to relax a bit before deciding. In the background of all of this that we are all going thru is the worst world-wide health crisis in our lifetime. Speaking for myself, it is dragging me down and depressing me. I emphasize what the others have said. We are here for you. Share your doubts and fears with us. Don't carry it all on your shoulders. Much love and many prayers going your way.0

You are Will Survive! Yes you will! I’m facing my 4th recurring cancer and have to have more scans and tests to decide what to do next. I’ve been doing this for almost 15 years. Each time I get bad news I cry and have my pity party and then get on with finding out everything I can to fight back one more time! Don’t give up until you give up your last breath. New treatments keep coming and you may find one that works for you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Wishing you well!0

Boy, I hear you. I really don't think I could do TIL again, even if they let me, which is not likely. I am so sorry you are going through this. My compassion is overflowing. Remember, you don't know what will happen. The new drugs are wonderful. I am living with cancer as a chronic condition. That's how I choose to view it. Like diabetes. Please keep in touch.0

I'm so sorry. It is devastating to think that it is time to put on the gloves and get to fighting again ... but you CAN do it again. You did it once and you can do it again, if that's your desire. We'll be here to support you, whatever your decision.0

WillSurvive....as many have said, give yourself time to get mad, grieve, and do as Teachertina advised, do a "pity party". It's ok to "react" and cry because you will release all your frustrations, emotions, and anger and then "act" and see what new options are out there. I have positive affirmations and scriptures in post notes all over my house I plaved when I received my bad news, and I don't plan on removing them, as they have been strategically placed for me to see. When I get those "why me" episodes I give myself time to cry, think about the reasons I need to keep fighting, and then I go over and start to read my affirmations. They calm me down and give me hope that things will get better. We are all here for you.0

Can you provide more info? Returned how and where? Have you already had a biopsy? You likely won't be able to do radiation again. Immunotherapy is a good treatment for recurrence.

We think you can do this again but not the same regimen. Advances have certainly been made since prior treatments and those advances should not be ignored. We are all rooting for you, with you every step of the way and expect updates from you. Please keep us posted...0

My cancer has also just returned and I feel
like you. How are you doing? Give us an update.0
