Hi, everyone. I ran across an old Thankful Thursday post of Greg's. In it he said there is always, always something to be thankful for. Well, I'm still grieving the loss of our dear friend.
But, I thought in his honor, how about if we do a Thankful Thursday post?

I'm thankful for Greg and all of you.

It was a beautiful day here - blue sky, sunshine, about 78 degrees, and no smoke or ash in the air. I'm thankful for that, too.

Bug, thank you! It’s now Friday, but I’ll say what I am thankful for about yesterday: I was able to loll around the house, having done my weekly food shopping on Wednesday. I love few activities more than being totally inactive and just lying in bed and spending the day on the Internet or reading a book my iPhone! I’m thankful I could do that yesterday. And I appreciate your tribute to Greg by continuing his Thankful Thursday. Let’s all keep this going.

I too am a day late. I am thankful that somehow I found WhatNext at the beginning of my journey. I am coming up on 7 years of being a memeber, and I am thankful that I got to know Greg and everyone else. I have learned so much here.

I am thankful I am in remission. I am thankful it has cooled off here in Arizona. I am also thankful for Greg and everything he did.

I haven't been on here in a long time. I am saddened to hear about Greg. I will say how thankful I am that I found this site. I was warned about all the misinformation that can be found on the websites. I was so happy to be recommended to this site. So much valuable information and positive words. Forever grateful...

I am thankful that recent scans showed that I am still NED. It seems difficult to "celebrate" NED with Greg gone. I'm also grateful that I will be having cataract surgeries next week and the week after. Hopefully, I'll be able to see well again and see colors again.

I, too, am extremely grateful that I found this site almost 5 years ago. My fellow journeyers helped me so much to navigate the crooked path thru my 3 cancers, multitude of tests and scans, waiting for results and dealing with recovery. It is the consistent site I recommend others to. I am currently NED and appreciating every moment. Hugs!

I have also been on WhatNext for seven years. I am very grateful my daughter found this site for me. Prior to my cancer diagnosis I was never on the internet, I am grateful for my continued survivorship and the guidance I received from so many WhatNexters, Greg being a giant part of all of this. I am very grateful that no one in my immediate family has been affected by the COVID 19 virus and hope this continues to be the case.
@JaneA, I am right behind you on cataract treatments, my eye doctor has mentioned that it is in my near future. Best wishes for success and speedy recovery.

JaneA, your paintings are so lovely I never would have guessed that you have trouble seeing colors. Good luck on your surgery. Please let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.

barbaraanne, it's nice to hear from you.

I am grateful I was referred to this site almost 14 years ago. I’m grateful Greg led the site for so many years. I’m grateful for my supportive sister who has been with me every step of my journey. I’m grateful for all the members of this site who are so supportive.

I am grateful for yesterday too. I had breakfast with a close friend (also a bc survivor) at the Cracker Barrel - which is properly social distanced. Then we went to a local nursery to see their newly displayed Christmas decor and bought some new things to jazz up last year's decorations. Last stop for a choc. mocha frappe at McDonald's drive through. It was a crisp autumn day and I think Greg would approve of looking forward to the holidays, no matter what else is going on.

I am 2 days behind but on this Saturday I am thankful for being a 10 year survivor. I pulled out the calendar I kept when I was going through a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation. It all began on Sept 23, 2010 when I heard those dreaded words. I am so very thankful that I found Greg and this group! I still find encouragement here almost every day!

Thank YOU Bug. I believe Greg is smiling on you for keeping us all positive. I am grateful to Greg and to all of you. I have received massive support through the people that participate in this group. I am also grateful for my friend's ongoing treatment. She was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Finished treatment as the poster child of her clinic when she became NED. It came back and after 2 more unsuccessful chemo protocols she was told to "get her affairs in order". She is now on her 5th type of chemo treatment. Her clinic is getting her financial support and giving her moral support as she chooses to continue to bring sunshine to her family and friends for as long as she can.

Thanks Bug. Great idea to keep Greg with us in spirit.
Im Thankful for all of you wonderful people because everything on this side has been going downhill lately. With your help I've been able to take a deep breath, think positive for awhile and know there is good in the world.

I am two days late, but thankful that I found WhatNext and that you folks have helped me keep my sanity in these crazy months we have been through. I am thankful for my very optimistic husband who keeps telling me not to worry about my mammogram this upcoming Tuesday and he "just knows" everything will be okay. (I am not so sure, and I know it is "scanxiety") I am thankful for him though.
I am also thankful for a beautiful fall day and that it has finally started to cool down and feel like fall around here.

Thanks for doing this, Bug!! I guess I missed a few days coming to WhatNext because it is now Saturday night instead of Thursday. I want to say it was Thursday that I "celebrated" 8 years since I was sent for that fateful CT scan that revealed my lung cancer ... might be wrong about the day but it was recently and I am very grateful for every single day I have been given since my diagnosis.

I too am also grateful to have happened upon WhatNext and for the job Greg did in moderating it. I think he made it the list it is. I'm extra grateful for the friends I've made here. And, Bug, one of the many reasons I'm thankful is that you thought to start us back on remembering what we're grateful for!!

I was just thinking a few minutes ago about the fact that November is about to start and I historically do a "I am grateful for"... or "I am thankful for..." post every single day of the month. I didn't do it the last two years (my son died on Nov 2 2018) but think it is time to start back up again this year.

I'm, later than all of you. After the Hurricane devasted LA, it kept on going as a Tropical Storm with 75-85 mph winds. They took out my power at 4 am on Thursday and I got it back at 3 pm this afternoon - Sunday! I'm truly fortunate as we did have some fatalities in the state. The number of power lines down was incredible. We had more than a million without power. Jane A., I know you live in my state. I hope you had no major problems. Bug, your thought of "Thankful Thursdays" in honor of Greg is a great idea. My thought for this past Thursday is being grateful for having a roof left on my house. Not all here could say that. Sure do miss you, Greg.

I’m later than everyone else! So sorry I missed this last week. Greg is right that there is always something to be grateful for even in 2020. Just had a negative biopsy at the site of my original cancer 10 years ago...the torrential rain last night washed away the 6” of snow we got last Thursday and today is sunny and brisk...but I’m most grateful for having known Greg and all of you at a time in my life when I needed you all, and I continue to do so. Greg touched so many of us in ways big and small. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Thankful Thursday on Tuesday.....? My surgical incision is almost completely healed. And my home healthy might discharge me this week. That will be bittersweet. It means I'm healing. But I'll miss having nurses visit twice a week. Living alone and with Covid, it gets kinda lonely. I have a friend who has been picking up my grocery order and doing my laundry. But I don't have him this week because he might have been exposed. His first test came back negative. He'll take another test tomorrow.

I am sorry to hear this, BuckeyeShelby. I sure hope your friend's test comes back negative again. It is great news about your wound. How is the cancer treatment going? Take care.

Great news, @Gabba and @BuckeyeShelby!! Makes my heart happy to read some good news!!

I hope your friend is going to continue to test negative. Your friend sounds like a really nice person and I'm glad you have him!

I just got an email telling me that a lady in one of my Bible studies has been exposed to COVID via her husband. Now ... the question is ... do we go on to Bible study tonight or stay home, safe and sound (maybe). Chances are that we haven't seen her since she was exposed, so it is probably safe...
