Apparently. What I have is lymphadema making my face swell up. I haven't had a chance to see the doctor yet and won't for 2 more weeks. I'll ask more questions then.

In the meantime, has anyone here had it. How do you go about massaging it to help it drain?

I went several months before I was successful in getting help from medical professionals. My situation was not just swelling, but significant pain. I turned to youtube and found help there until I got a lymphedema specialist. I am including a link to a youtube video that might help you. It does not include massage, which can make things worse if not done correctly. It includes simple movements you can try. It is presented by CancerResearchUK. It seems to me that if you can do these exercises without pain, they might help. It does not appear they suggest anything that could make things worse for you. Good luck.

I had lymphedema on my neck and went to a massage therapist that specialized in lymphedema therapy. It worked for me. Almond with wearing a chin strap at night. Sleep elevated with two pillows. I hope this helps.

For my HNL lymphedema, due to neck dissection, radiation and chemo, I see a CLT, do manual massage and head and neck exercises, wear a compression garment at night and when I fly, and I use a FlexiTouch pump for 35 minutes at night. Lymphedema Guru site has been most helpful.
    Good luck.

I experience this often in my face and neck. I find lathering up with a good facial cleanser in a warm shower and massaging in a downward motion from cheeks to my collar bones daily keeps the swelling down. I have had nodes removed in my neck and jaw line so it's just part of my daily routine now. I hope tis helps and you get some relief.
