I will be reading frequently but not posting often for the rest of this week or maybe the next few weeks. I fell today at lunch and injured my left wrist (thankfully not my right since I am right handed). I thought it was just sprained (and that may still be the case) so I tried urgent care. Let me tell you, Urgent Care in a vacation town is a JOKE (I live in a vacay town- not on vacay). I had to go to 4 different places. The 3rd was Orthopedic Urgent Care which could have gotten me in right away but would not accept my insurance. Finally ended up at ER. Got x-rays which showed no apparent break. It hurts like h e double you know what though. ER doc said if it didn't feel better after resting it for a couple of days to go back to my primary care doctor and have re x-rayed as sometimes bones like wrist bones have little microfractures that are not easily detected on x-ray. So I guess if I am still hurting by Friday- my day off will be spent trying to see if I have made it worse.

What?! This is such a bummer for you! I am very sorry to think of you having pain, I hope the Tylenol meds can help with that? Just sit back and read our messages, don't do anything to stress your wrist, you do NOT want permanent damage!

Sounds like you should go to ortho Dr, not your primary. Hoping it feels better with icing and rest.

MLT I agree I have to get a referral from my PCM to see ortho though unless I want to be self pay and I can't afford that The good thing about my PCM is he is in the Naval Hospital and they have a radiology department on same floor and ortho also in the hospital

Bug nothing else is hurt or bruised just my arm

i am doing voice recognition typing not actually using my hand

it still hurts if i try to turn my arm which seems to be indicative of a break but the x ray at er said not broken so i will just wait a day or so to see if anything else appears. tylenol is keeping the pain at a 2-3 rather than 6-7.

So sorry Jen to hear about your arm-- I just found out as last week we had no power for 4 days & I am getting back to normal.
Hope you are feeling better, that is a real bummer!
