Outlived Usefulness

It's obvious this site is never going to be what it was before Greg's passing. He was a kind soul who devoted a lot of time to this site to make it work as we all liked. We all miss him very much and I wish we were strong enough to make this site work, but so many left when he passed and now it seems all that happens is petty bickering.
I wish you all well. I have communicated all I can with Colby to try to make our concerns known.
I am tired of the bickering and ridiculous arguments that go on here. I am tired of people throwing shade at me because I can't fix the problem. Every time some people post anything, it's always hateful and unkind.
As someone once told me "You can be kind and let people walk all over you, and some will still complain you are not flat enough." Well, no more flat girl here. Just no more at all. Done
Know that all of you have been my earth angels since early 2020 and my road with cancer was made easier by this site and the encouragement of so many.

Jen, in light of the horrific things that happened in the world yesterday, I would like to point out that life and time is fragile. I know this site is struggling to be the beacon of hope we need, so I am asking you to hang in? I think a lot of us might want to use this space today to reach out to your Marine husband and tell you how devastated we are to have heard such awful news in the past 24 hours. Be good to yourself today. It is a time to 'lick your wounds' and pay your respects to the heros who have been such a big part of your personal life.
Please, everyone, no bickering today? No political opinions? This is a day for loving on those who grieve and we are all familiar with grief.0 -
I always appreciate your messages, legaljen. You are trying to hold us together. We do miss having a leader for our group. Hang in there. Prayers for all.0

Please hang in there; we're all knocked for six after the passing of Greg and this site effectively becoming a ghost town. Now, I haven't seen the bickering, and I tend to unfollow question threads that deteriorate into political rows because this is to be a support site. I admire your doing what you can to keep What Next going. I pray that a successor much like Greg will rise up and restore What Next to its former honor and glory as in the days when I was in active treatment and in need of support. All of you have been a God send since I had no support group in my area and found myself feeling so alone until my mother found this safe haven for me. HUGS and God bless.0

I hope all of you can get it up and moving again. I just don't have the time, patience or energy.0

I was active and ever so appreciative of this site as I battled three separate cancers and they treatments they required. It happens I came to a clearing in my journey about the same time we lost Greg. I have not been as active due to the fact I was breathing clear air for the first time in a long time. Shame on me for being selfish but I really needed that time out. Ironically, I am now facing a different demon..5 fractured, compressed vertebrae that give me evil pain. So it seems my journey has started again and know how much I will appreciate support in this next chapter. Hopefully we can still be there for newbies that need us so much! Hugs!!0

Jen, I know you’re resolute in your decision to leave, so I won’t urge you to stay. You know that if you decide to return, you’ll be welcomed by us — if WN continues. I wish you well.0

2943, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this very painful situation — and it’s not at all selfish of you to have taken a time out of WN. We should all do what we think is most healthful for ourselves. And we’re here to help you and newbies, as long as this site continues.0

2943, I hope you are able to get relief soon. Bless you.0

I did this in Hawaii(I live here half the year). I have been treated for everything else at UCSF. I had already seen an orthopedic specialist (in fact 2 for different area) so I was able to get in much faster than had I been newbie. I fly home the 6th and see him and team the 8th. Had mri’s , etc so carrying them with me. It will be interesting to see what is proposed.0
