What about you? Do you read them? What are some of your favorites? One of mine is "Up until today you have survived 100% of what has been thrown at you. You will probably survive today too."

Are people acting all crazy and hoarding things at the grocery store?
I've seen some of it on the news and thought, well, that won't happen here. I go to the store today and things are bare in some parts. People are buying up stuff like there's going to be a bomb dropped or something.

Most all of us here either have cancer or are caring for someone with cancer, I ask you all
What has cancer taken from you that the average person wouldn't know about? Some of the simple things wind up being enormous to us when they happen to us. I lost the ability to eat certain things that I love. One small thing, but big to me now. What about you, what have you lost?

Today we go to Vanderbilt to see about getting this stupid feeding tube out.
It was great when it was needed for the first 3 weeks or so, but since then it's just in the way and has started to hurt where it enters my belly. I'm hoping there is nothing seriously wrong. It has started hurting and when I bump it the pain is pretty bad. So I hope to be relieved of that tube today. What do you have…

Since you started dealing with cancer, how many times have you had to make an ER visit because you c
It seems like I can never have anything go wrong during the day so I can call my oncologist and go to the clinic to see them. It's always after hours and the usual response from the after hours phone number is to go to the nearest ER. I've had to make 4 trips in the last two years. Anyone else having this issue?

After you have been treated for a while have you noticed that those around you start to change.
I see them starting to think that because they have gotten over my diagnosis that they think I should too and that I should get back to acting like I used to. They seemed to have forgotten that I'm still in the middle of this and fighting for my life.

How much weight did you lose or have you lost during treatments?
I am down by 24 pounds so far and seem to still be losing. I thought I would stabilize and start gaining, but nothing yet. Still losing in spite of me drinking nutrition drinks and eating when I can.

How many years/months past finishing treatment are you, if you have finished treatments?
I am already stressing over a recurrence and I'm not even done with my treatments yet. I can't seem to stop worrying about it coming back after I'm done.

Chemotherapy due to recurrence
I've had a recurrence of cancer in the same breast where I had a mastectomy over six years ago. I had a tumor and the implant removed earlier this month and just saw my Medical Oncologist today. Because of the aggressive nature on my cancer, he is recommending chemotherapy - dose-dense AC/T. The first time, I had Cytoxan…

How long have you had a feeding tube in? The PEG type in the belly?
I have asked to have mine out a couple of times but the doctors don't want me to have it out yet because I keep having issues with my mouth/throat with not being able to swallow. I'm so ready to get it out. I keep bumping up against things with it, it's aggravating while sleeping, or any time really. Does anyone have one…

How common is it to have to get anti-depressants?
I have talked to my doctor about the mood swings and what seems like depression over this diagnosis but I haven't agreed to take them yet. I don't want to start another problem because of this problem. Does anyone have any experience with them?

What do you have going on this week? Treatments, scans, surgery, check-up? Nothing?
I have a surgery follow up with my ENT Oncologist/surgeon to see how my stoma is healing, and I can get rid of this feeding tube that's hanging out of my belly. I've started eating on my own and I'm able to swallow so far with no issues so it's time to get that sucker out. It's aggravating having to watch out for it all…

Evening primrose oil
I have had three surgeries since June of 2017. The initial lumpectomy, then in 2018 removal of a benign cyst and last spring a surgical biopsy that turned into a rather extensive lumpectomy to clean up a large seroma and scar tissue, also benign. As a result of all this messing around I have constant low grade pain in my…

Scar Tissue or Lesions on rib
Was diagnosed with Stage 3 111B colon cancer 3/18. Removed part of colon on 5/18. Began chemo on 8/18. My scan on 8/19 showed a lesion on my 5th left rib. Did radiation for 10 days in August. Oncologist switched me to Opdivo. However, nobody took a sample to see if its cancer on my rib, or scar tissue? My oncologist keeps…

What do you do about people wanting to hug you?
While in treatment I am paranoid about everyone snorting, sneezing, coughing, etc. Then you add that to someone who wants to run up and hug you. I don't want hugs! How do you fend them off without just yelling at them?

My doctor wants me to have a PET scan but my insurance is saying they won't pay for one now.
They say a PET is not needed now, wants them to do a ct scan first. This makes no sense to me at all. Why spend the money on a CT then when it won't show what they need they then pay for a PET. This is what's wrong with healthcare in our country these days. Anyone else having trouble getting a PET paid?
