its been 8 years since I found the lump in my breast. An out of this world experience. I have had coworkers to pass away from cancer,or their family member to pass away from cancer. pancreatic and liver cancer. new diagnosis of breast cancer for their loved ones. than they come back and say "I didn't realize what you were going through. I have since been blessed with 2 grandchildren. my grandson is 6y/o. my granddaughter who was born at 26 weeks is now 2months old.she was 2lbs,dropped down to 1pound 14onuces. She now weighs 4lbs 15 ounces. still in the NICU. She just started bottle feeding.

Life goes on, whether we can participate or not. Congrats on the grandchildren. My two granddaughters are the joy in my life. And I lost both my dad and my brother to cancer. It's an ugly beast.

Circle of life, huh? Sounds like your granddaughter is doing well. If she's over 4 lbs, sounds like she might be close to going home. What a grand homecoming that will be! Hope all continues to go well and she gets sprung soon.

When you look back on what you have been through I think that most of us look at it and are amazed that we did it. We faced what most people hope they never see and we got through it one day at a time, one procedure at a time. Most people, like your friend, have no idea what getting a diagnosis and going through treatments and surgeries, procedures entail. Enjoy the grandkids, those are the things that are important.

PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS I WENT TO MY ONCOLOGIST YEATERDAY. MY HBG DECREASED TO 11, MY IRON LEVEL WENT FROM 55 / 6 MONTHS AGO TO 27. ON 3/4/20 & 3/10/20 I WILL GO IN FOR IRON INFUSIONS.I WILL BE TELLING A LIE IF I SAID I WAS NOT APPREHENSIVE. SLIGHTLY TERRIFIED.

It's understandable to be terrified. Once you've had a cancer diagnoses whenever anything else happens we tend to think "it's back". Just remember what you've been through and how you made it through. Think of your grandchildren that you have been blessed to be here to see. We get thrown some curve balls in this thing called life but when we know the controller of life, it makes it easier to handle difficult times. Got you in prayer.

God Bless you, Cassieme1,, you have been thur a lot,, but we all know that this is what makes us all stronger.. Not that we want to go thur this to get stronger,, but most of us would not be doing as good as we are if not for our faith in all who have helped us along the way. When we are challenged ,, such as you have been,, we put forth an extra effort to be with the ones that need us, in their times of trial.. and we deal with ourselves when the time is right. I know that sometimes i'm struggling,, and then along comes a family or friend who might need me,, and I help them,, which in turn might help me.
Prayers go out to you,, in your upcoming appts,,, and to your grandchild for her fight, and to your entire family,,
I know that being DX the 2nd time with BC was hard enough ( especially after a 20 year no signs),, then doing the chemo and radiation,, Then 4 years later I get the DX for it to return,, 3 times is just a bit much,

I can relate to those feelings. I went through everything you're describing over the last 6 months leading up to my last diagnosis. I was hoping that nothing was going to be found but in the back of my mind I was expecting it. I think that's what made it not such a shock to me when I was finally told the results of the biopsy. I hope you get through this with no issues.

CASSIEME, I will be attending my prayer group tomorrow. I will post your name for prayers. There are 18 members of our prayer group.
My daughter was also born at 26 weeks. It was an emergency C-section. I flat-lined twice once during the operation and then 3 days later when I went into shock . My daughter weighed 3lbs. and the Dr.s wanted to take her off life support because if she did survive she would be a vegetable. Well that "vegetable" will be 46 in May She has a PhD and is a singer, dancer and actress. I fired the Dr. who wanted to take her off life support Miracles happen more often than we realize
I will also pray for your tiny granddaughter

CASSIEME, my HGB dipped as low as 11 in the few yrs. following treatment (radiation & letrozole). Ferritin was low too (22). My docs suspected a GI bleed (2 yrs before breast cancer, I got an "ulcerette" from overusing NSAIDs to combat post-knee-surgery pain after kicking opioids). This time, neg. colonoscopy & endoscopy led to a "diagnosis of elimination" of a likely AVM (arteriovenous malformation) in the small intestine. It's also possible that AIs are partly the culprit (as they are with raising blood lipids). My GI doc said to just take iron--and my HGB is back up to 12. I take Feosol Complete (it has Bifera heme-iron, which is better absorbed and better tolerated). Not cheap, but it works. I alternate it with Vitron-C which also works (and has the vit. C in it to aid absorption). Ask about them once the infusions raise your HGB & ferritin stores back to normal.

Don't want to convey the wrong impression with "kicking opioids." Was put on Norco while in inpatient physical rehab after my first knee replacement surgery, and once I got home I weaned myself off it a bit more precipitously & aggressively than I needed to. (Aleve was the NSAID that "did the nasty" on my stomach). A year later, I weaned more gradually, using a lower equivalent dose of ibuprofen. If you are taking NSAIDs for pain, they might be contributing to or causing a GI bleed.

Stay positive and get involved in something that makes you feel good. The public library, an environmental commission, an arts and crafts group. Me time is so cathartic.

YOU ARE SCARING ME. I AM ALWAYS WAITING FOR THE OTHER SHOE TO DROP. READING THIS MORNING ON IORN DEFICEINCY ANEMIA, A FEW MOTHS AGO I CALLED MY PRIMARY AND TOLD HIM ABOUT MY LEGS CRAMPING HURTING WKING ME UP OUT OF MY SLEEP. THIS IS ONE OF THE SYMPTOMS. NOW I HAVE TO GET AN IRON INFUSION.
