Saturday Serenity
I am up early this Saturday and just observing things in the world. At this time when the world seems buzzing, I am reflecting on the quiet things in life. The past year with COVID put us all on lockdown and so many people are ready to resume "life as normal." I am ready for things to feel more "normal" too. I have seen…

Is This Over?
When I arrived to WhatNext almost a year and a half ago, this was a thriving community of helpful people with a lot of knowledge and even more heart. No doubt, most of that was due to Greg's encouragement and diligent moderation. He offered so much knowledge and encouragement to all of us. We certainly miss him very much.…

Other Care | CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine)
Modified Genetic Citrus hope will work to stop from metastasizing. Boosting immune system to max with radical diet, no meat, no sugar, and more.

Decision Point | To continue with alternative treatments or surgery.
Fear of metastasizing but am willing to continue alternative due to urinate well, sleep well, always have had back issues so maybe not prostate related.

What were the 3 worst shopping issues you had in COVID? Did it change anything in how you do things
start looking for the replacement. Last night my son said, we need yellow mustard. The 3 things we had the most trouble finding was---flour---bread---laundry soap. At WalMart I found a torn- 10# bag of flour, and 2 women began offering me money for it. They stopped at $15. I had to have that because I couldn't find any…

Dealing with unsupportive family
My in-laws are making me feel that I am being dramatic in wanting to prevent myself from catching small colds, viruses. Non are vaccinated and think that since I'm not in treatment that it can't "really be all that bad". I have a PET scan on Friday and I don't think they understand the fear that I am going through. They…

Had My Second Shot- Moderna
I had my second shot today. My arm is super sore, but I keep watching to make sure it's not reddening or swelling. I keep moving it to keep range of motion and not let it get too bad. I don't feel like I am run over by a freight train. Most people I have known have said it usually starts about 3-4 hours after the shot if…

What Feels Scariest?
Scans? Oncologist follow-ups? Other medical doctor follow-ups? Right now, it all feels so nerve-wracking to me. I just want to go back to blissful ignorance when I could convince myself I was just being a hypochondriac and worrying about things that I felt or thought. Around the time of 9/11 (THE 9/11), my husband was…

Has anyone had a doctor claim your positive pet scan as a false-positive, without doing biopsy?
I have had nearly every symptom of lymphoma since last summer & have been fighting with doctors to find out what’s going on. I finally had a PET scan that lit up my cervical & axillary nodes between 3.5 to 5 SUVmax with a liver suv 3.5. so I thought I was finally getting a biopsy, but nope! Hematologist walks in and says,…

a little scary...
Today I had a routine check-up with my radio-oncologist. She found a small nodule (word she used, for lack of better word), in my right breast. My cancer was in the left breast, but I had reduction surgery on the right in Nov. My breasts are very dense, but I was able to feel what she felt, and it seemed to be rather…
