Drug or Chemo Therapy | Chemotherapy
About someone I know who has cancer, Chemo is still challenging despite meds given for usual side effects but does not cover other symptoms that could be managed with OTC meds.

Elavated liver enzymes
Minimal side affects after the first 2 immunotherapy treatments and zero after the 3rd. I go for my 4th tomorrow. I have noticed that my liver enzyme levels (ALT & AST) have been gradually rising and are considered elevated. My Oncologist does blood work before each treatment and has not raised this to me. I saw my Family…

Side Effects | Need for Oral Surgery & extreme neuropathy-like hand pain. Then Blood Clots
I initially had a bilateral mastectomy because this was a recurrence on the right side. I started with Exemestane and Zometa but had to stop it due to a need for oral surgery and due to extreme neuropathy-like pain in hands. Switched to Tamoxifen which after only 1 month caused blood clots.

Drug or Chemo Therapy | Immunotherapy
After his first round of combo immunotherapy (Opdivo & Yervoy), my husband developed Grade 3 drug induced pneumonitis. This resolved with steroid treatment, but meant he could no longer take the combo treatment. The one treatment alone, however, has stimulated his immune system enough to have shrunken the tumour in his…

October book question
Hi! Anyone have any books to recommend as we head into early darkness and reading by the fire? LOL (I, for one, have only my inner fire!)? I’m reading a compilation of ghost stories by M.R. James, titled “Curious Warnings.” For those unfamiliar with his writing and him, he was an English Victorian scholar and a writer of…

Oh No | Had to stop the trial.
My wife had a 3mm tumor show up in her bladder-----probably coming in thru the bladder wall from the peritoneum. (she has peritoneal cancer technically but is same as ovarian). This new tumor meant we had to stop the trial, but we are staying on the 2 same drugs, just not On-Trial. Our doc has another trial in mind,…

Leiyomysarcoma
Hello everyone! Anyone here have stage 4b uterine leiyomysarcoma? I'm almost six years in, metastasized to my lungs and most recently my liver, no new treatment available. Just wondering how you are handling everything. In February my oncologist basically sent me home, with no hope, kinda like, "nice knowing you but…

Fear CAN Be Funny
So, I just had the worst sinking feeling when I left work today. I went to drop the mail in our downstairs mail slot at work and suddenly discovered that Oops, my Foob is NOT THERE. So I did what anyone with a FOOB might do. I thought I was going to throw up. I thought "Where the heck could it be?" I didn't remember not…

Oh No | Problem with doctor
I have been diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer. My tumor is not connected to anything, and will travel at will. Breast cancer is not in either side of my family, but other types of cancer is prevalent. So now they want to also remove my ovaries and fallopian tubes. And then keep checking on my pancreas. I have…

Other Care | Palliative care
I work for a wonderful company that gave me 26 weeks off with pay. I have ran all my "keep my job" time off that there is available, and have started back to work part time. My new FEAR is making my bills each month, as I am single and have always worked hard to save and look forward to retirement...that's way down the…

Decision Point | LEGAL SUIT
Please if anyone reads this and would like to help. I think that I must file a lawsuit if only to save others from the pain and suffering that I was/am still subjected to. I have read many others experience with breast cancer, and have not ever read that this is a common practice of doctors. I fear that I now have PTSD. IT…
