andreacha, thank you for the very kind words you wrote in response to my December 25 post (the Happy Holidays post). I am really touched.
How are you doing?0December 2020 -
Greetings from Hancock County, GA - I saw your response to a question and noticed that you are treated at Piedmont. I am a Stage IV rectal cancer survivor - 5 years out. I go to GA Cancer Specialists, part of Northside Cancer Institute - they have an office in Macon and Milledgeville. I prefer the staff at Macon, and it's only about 12 miles more to drive. We have a patient portal too for everything bu scans. They don't release them via the portal. I would rather know what it says to prepare questions than wait until the visit.
I hope that you are doing okay. Cancer is a challenge. I'm still NED and hoping for the best.0November 2019 -
Hi, amdreacha. After I read just now what you went through, I wanted to say that my heart goes out to you. Hugs -0November 2019

Hi @andreacha! I saw your post wondering where i am and thought i would drop in and say Hi! I am doing fine (i hope!!! I have a scan Tuesday that will tell me if I am right!). I have been really busy and days pass without me coming to WN. Sometimes a week passes without me realizing it.
I appreciate you wondering about me! It makes me feel good to know that some people notice when i am not as active!
How are you doing?0August 2019 -
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions and offer support to others! It makes a big difference to those who have questions and need information for someone to offer that. A new diagnosis is a scared and lonely place, we can help them by just answering a few questions and offering a shoulder to lean on.
Thank you again, we hope you're doing well.

Hi. Cucumbers and celery are replete with minerals. I make a smoothie most days. I also use herbal teas and moringa which are replete with bone beneficial minerals. Hang in there. Best wishes.0September 2017

Hi. I am amazed that the storm caused damage in Atlanta. It had a lot of rain but had slowed down considerably by the time it got to GA.
Yes. Mold is awful and terrifying. I believe it is how I wound up on here. So many contractors dont even know how to deal with it. I want new interior walls as well as that special pain for the studs.0September 2017 -
Hi, you are one lucky lady. I have an acquaintance who has hemochromatosis and she has to have her blood 'cleaned' with some regularity. I am glad you dont suffer as much as she does. She is Native American and runs a small publishing house for books on Native American history and recent literature. She says she gets super tired.
A lot of food has added iron like spaghetti and cereals.

Hi andreacha.... Thanks for sharing your story... I'm also 74(the end of May). My brother once told me God didn't save my live (Stage IV ovarian cancer, DX January 06...) I remember shaking my finger in his face and asking him... " Who the heck do you think led me to just the right doctor? "... Your post made my heart sing....0April 2017

Thank you so much for your comment.
I really have no idea why I have survived so much agony nor enjoyed a fair share of ecstacy.
Except when you react and tell me I have somehow helped, it gives me reason to go on and a reinforced understanding that I am an important thread to the strength of a infinitely large universal cloth.
Each of us are that. My art is always changing and growing somehow. It can be a painful or a pleasurable morphing. Only a few bits are great. Appreciate you telling me I evoked emotion in you. That is what the art of living is all about, is it not?

Andreacha may I ask what statin drug were you taking. I have been on simavastatin for about 2 years, I have been working with neurologists an orthopedic Dr.s to relieve this pain. Although x-rays clearly show where I need surgery. However at my last bloodwork showed some disturbing signs in my liver function. I had had a cortisone shot the day before and the anesthetic had worn off before the cortisone had kicked in so I took one 500mg Tynol tablet before going to bed.0July 2016

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/kidney-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
