nearly 5 yr appt - NED! BUT kidney values not NED - help?
The past 2 years, my GFR numbers have been in the hi 40s to 50s. My onologist says for me not to worry - it was to be expected due to really dose-dense chemo. My NP has been concerned. But now I am deciding to get more info. It indicates 3rd stage chronic kidney disease and 'they' suggested jumping straight ahead to a…

Good morning everyone, I am also a breast cancer survivor, in the Name of Jesus! - I didn't gain any weight on chemotherapy, I could taste and eat everything because of the Holy Spirit leading and guiding me a year prior to finding breast cancer. He completely flipped my diet and what I ate before I found the breast cancer…

Did you know that drinking coffee improves survival in colorectal cancer?
Another study has just confirmed that drinking at least 4 cups of coffee daily improves survival, even in colorectal cancer patients whose cancer has spread. My oncologist confirmed this from an earlier Dana-Farber study back in 2015. I drink my coffee every day as part of my survivorship plan.…

Being Open to Suggestions
We all know that once people know we have cancer, there is no end to the advice we get whether welcome or unwelcome, whether we pay a professional or ask a website, whether it comes from Aunt Judy's friend who grows daisies in organic soil or our super skeptical neighbor who eats 15 chili dogs a day. It's hard when we ask…

Good news and bad news
Let's start with the good news first. My skin is very sensitive to the adhesive of the clear drape that creates the vacuum and seals the dressing to the wound. The wound specialist wants to give my skin a break, so I have just a dressing, no wound vac. I'm unleashed! Now the not so good news. I discovered yesterday morning…

Stomach tube leaking.
While going through this stomach tube ordeal in the ER over the last day, they told me at the ER that it's normal for them to leak. The one that was in to start with leaked just a little but nothing like the one that came out or its replacement. I can push a little water, or fluid of any kind and it will leak considerably.…

Accuracy of results
For me, multiple CEA tests were done. Multiple colonoscopies were done. I have heard colon cancer can spread primarily to the lungs or liver. Does a CEA detect any recurrence in a part other than the colon?

Chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy
Any suggestions and/or successes? I am 8+ years out from ending my chemo, which left me with (CIPN) neuropathy. I have taken alpha-lipoic acid, B vitamins, folic acid and even tried several months of acupuncture. All to no avail in even minimizing, its gradually increasing effects. Today it feels as if the bottom of feet…
