How IS everyone?

It's beginning to look like we can post questions under "Questions" again (which would be a good thing). Since our site has been unreliable I think we have kind of dropped away from keeping in touch with one another? Or maybe it is because the pandemic has eased up and we can finally get out again? Anyway, I think we should check in with each other and maybe include an update. I want to hear that everyone is well!
Today I ran into an old acquaintance of my husband's. She is one of those who will look at me hard, lower her voice, and say, "How are you doing...really?" - like she is waiting for me to tell her something bad. Do you all know the type? I am trying to avoid those kinds, but they are out there.
The truth is - I AM fine. I just had annual check-out last Thursday that confirmed it, so I am feeling good. My worst problem right now is my garden weeds are getting ahead of me; I'll take it!

Hi, MarcieB! I’m one who’s dropped away. I’m amazed that questions are going under Questions again.
I’m glad you’re doing well. I am, too.
I hope the old gang — anyone who’s drifted away — returns.0 -
I don't check the site on a daily basis anymore. I only get on when I get a notice about the daily digest being posted or if the site lets me know that someone posted a comment on something I am following. Carool, I was happy when I saw that you had written on Ashera's post. Like MarcieB, as far as I know, I am doing fine.0

beachbum5817, I’m very glad to hear that. Thank you! I may start checking WN daily, if things seem to be under better management.0

I too only check when I get an email.
Doing fine here; seven years out from dx on June 1. Still have underarm pain, especially after exercising, but have come to accept the fact that this will be forever. Tests were all good this year so just living covid avoidance life as are so many.0 -
Hi - Can't figure out questions page. Would love to ask about radiation therapy0
-
OK. I'll try again. It's me, Judith J - finished surgery for 3rd type of cancer (Squamous cell - head/neck surgery) and am trying to endure 30 days of radiation therapy. 15 days in and ready to quit. Any tips appreciated!0

Hi, everyone. Gosh, won't that be great if the Questions function works. It would be nice if our little community were active again. It's nice to hear from people and especially nice to hear of the good check-ups. As most of you know, my husband passed on March 22. Some days I'm okay and some days I'm a mess. I understand that's the nature of grieving. Love to everyone.0

Hello, everybody! I too am still here. LIke most of you, I only pop by when a daily digest email comes up. I have gotten spam emails from time to time, but they've eased considerably. As of my last appointment, I am NED, and it's been 9 years since I got diagnosed! To the member who is dealing with radiation and wants to quit halfway through, what is making you want to quit? Perhaps we can give you some advice to make the visits more bearable so you can complete your course. HUGS and God bless.0

PS As for the questions part of the site, I always had trouble with that due to accessibiltiy issues with my screen reader. I haven't needed to ask a question lately, so I don't know if the page is more accessible or not. I should try once I transition to a computer with a different platform and different screen reader. For those of you who do not know me and wonder why I use a screen reader on my computer, I also happen to be blind. HUGS and God bless.0

judithj, I just posted on your wall. I’ve had only breast radiation. I know that head and neck radiation is very difficult. You might want to check out https://www.headandneck.org/support-community/. I wish you all the best and hope you’re able to finish radiation.0

Bug, it would be great. Let’s hope.
Sending you hugs.0 -
Hi everyone. I am doing fine also. Wonderful to see the question page once again up and running. Hope this time it’s a keeper.0

Good to hear most doing OK. Judith: I think we all wanted to quit. Carol had good suggestion.
Feeling little puny lately and hope it's just part of "the Golden Years" thing0 -
I'm still kicking around. I hope by unearthing myself, I don't send the site into oblivion again. LOL
I am here, just working, carrying on with life.0
