Have you started wearing a mask everywhere?

Now that I think about it, as we are immunocompromised it's probably a good idea for all of us. Are you wearing one?

Everywhere? "Everywhere" for me is the grocery store, the pharmacy, the feed store (horse) as infrequently as I can manage. Yesterday I had to venture to the building supply for a new hot water heater (why do these things always choose a time like this to go up?). But, yes, I always wear a mask; put in on before I get out of my car. And I carry hand sanitizer and as soon as I get back in my car I use it liberally. Mask is to protect others from us but I will lead by example.0

I wear a mask everywhere I go (food shopping and drugstores). I try to stay home at least a week before I go out again for food, etc. Actually, here in NY we must wear masks in stores and have them around our necks, ready to put on when we’re outside near others.0

We are isolated at home for a while, but when anyone comes over we insist they have a mask on and we make them stay outside to chat.0

Grocery and pharmacy and gas. Not only do I wear it while outside, I belong to a guild that has sewn and donated over 3,000 to area needs. And still going. Has kept us out of trouble. If this small thing helps, absolutely.0

Sometimes. When I go into the grocery store. Not when I go outside. Though I am going to go walk with a friend tomorrow ... and for her sake, I will wear a mask that she gave me...
Thanks for what you're doing, @2943! I keep thinking I need to relearn how to use my sewing machine and make some masks. There have been some really generous mask-makers in my neighborhood.0 -
LivewithCancer. Think it is a little like riding a bike...one doesn’t forget. It has been rewarding. Many patterns on line.0

Even though my comments aren't important>the world media mentioned that the people with medical conditions are, exempt. And my most important is I'm already saved by the Blood of Jesus. And the genuine Believers(The Church) we know what's happening in these last days.So we're rejoicing /excited in seeing the Lord maybe sooner then later.0

I wear a mask when I go out to the places others have mentioned. I'm going to be out a few days this week and working in the yard so I'm hoping the mask will help my Spring allergies too.0

I finally got some masks last week. If I'm just in my car (by myself), no mask. But I went to pick up some carry out from a wing joint, and I did wear my mask into the building. Of course, I have cute kitty masks....0

Yes, all places won't let us inside without masks on.0

First I want to thank all of you who are wearing masks. You are not only protecting yourselves you are protecting me. I wear my mask every time I go out the door, which is rare. I love my mask because it does hid my face and it is very cute. Because I have to wear dark glasses and a hat when I go out, I am a very mysterious person. Also the mask filters out all the pollen that is a bonus,
@Pauline by not wearing a mask you are not putting just yourself at risk, you are putting others at risk. The masks are a 2-way street. My brother who is a Nurse Practitioner said one mask is only 70% effective. However if an infected person is wearing a mask the mask is 95% effective. We are wearing masks to protect each other. By wearing a mask we are showing love for our neighbor.0 -
For a walk down our street, we dont. But to go to physical therapy we have to wear one.0

@2943 - I came across a really great YouTube video for making masks and it looked really simple ... but effective. The video that played next showed how to make a mask with hand sewing, but I think it would be a nice pattern to do on the machine. My next few days are pretty busy ... almost like before the virus - I have places to go and things to do ... but maybe on Friday, I will give it a try. I've never been a great seamstress, but I think I could make masks that wouldn't embarrass anyone to wear. (But first I have to find a YouTube video on threading my machine ... it's been that long since I used it )0

I wear one whenever I go out. I would rather be safe and also protect others.0
