Thanks for taking the time to answer questions and offer support to others! It makes a big difference to those who have questions and need information for someone to offer that. A new diagnosis is a scared and lonely place, we can help them by just answering a few questions and offering a shoulder to lean on.

Hi William, first thanks for being with us and sharing you and your Wife's experiences, they do help others. We hope she is doing OK. Second, have you ever written out your story about the experiences she has been through? I think your story would be a good one on the need for asking your doctor questions and sticking to your guns until you get answers, and even considering second opinions.
If you're interested we would like to post about it on our blog page. I would just need you guys to write out a chronological story, sort of how you would be telling it to someone over lunch.

We then take that and edit it into an article.

Thanks for supporting others by offering advice and positive wishes! It does make a difference for them to see that other people have been there and are doing OK.

wmsavs, I have stage IV NSCLC, also adenocarcinoma. I went through traditional chemo for 7 months. When it quit working, my oncologist suggested I get into a clinical trial. I was lucky to get into a Phase 3 trial for what turned out to be nivolumab or Opdivo. I believe I will get my 78th infusion of Opdivo on Tuesday.

I was fortunate. My tumors responded immediately. They have remained completely stable since I started the trial over 3 years ago. I have had few side effects. The most significant is that my thyroid quit working correctly. I take a little pill for that and all is well...

Immunotherapy doesn't work for everyone, but when it works, it works really well. There is evidence that it continues to work long after treatments end. How exciting is THAT?
