I posted another blog post describing my day of surgery and recovery after this latest diagnosis

Today is two weeks and one day out from that day. It's amazing how fast the human body will recover. I never dreamed I would have come this far so fast. Compared to my previous most serious operation 11 years ago, this one was supposed to be much more serious, much harder to recover from with some serious possible complications. I guess I hit the lotto on this one because so far I've not had any complications and I appear to be healing faster than expected. So far, so good! I read your blog with great interest. I thank God your surgery went so well. I was inspired to hear how well you are coping with the after effects of your cancer bout, Will you be having any follow-up chemo or radiation?0

Hi Boise! No, I can't have any more raditation because I've already had it twice in my life on the neck area so I've maxed out how much I can have. Also, it's been proven that for chemo to be effective against this type of cancer it must be combined with radiation, so chemo was eliminated also.0

Have I already missed it somehow - did they determine if the thyroid cancer was a metastasis? Or a separate cancer altogether?0

Greg, it was good to read your latest blog entry (and to learn that you and Donna have TWO dogs!). Thank you for keeping us posted on your recovery.0

LIve, at my last doctor's appointment she had not gotten that determination from pathology. I have another appointment next Friday and hope to learn then.0

You truly are an inspiration. I thought that what I had gone through was horrendous but in comparison, it was a hangnail. I know you and Donna are glad to be home. There are going to be a lot of "news" for you but I'm confident that you can handle what they throw at you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.0
