Are you having trouble getting in to see your doctor?

Mine said they are cutting back hours and limiting visits, whatever that means.

So far, no problem. As the virus continues to spread I anticipate nonessential species may be curtailed. We had our first confirmed case 2 counties over yesterday so it's moving this way. I'm getting a series of 5 weekly shots in my knee, the second one tomorrow. Wondering if I'll see it through all five shots since it isn't something essential.0

There goes spellchecker again. That was supposed to read "services" not "species". I just got a call from my cancer center. They are stopping their massage, acupuncture and reiki services until further notice to limit nonessential traffic through the center. Probably a good idea but I will miss it. It was part of my mental health care routine.0

I had a week full of appointments scheduled for this week. All of them have been canceled. The only one that I really cared about was my annual visit to my oncologist. It has been rescheduled for the end of April. Hopefully, things will be better by then, and I can go to it.0

So far my surgery hasn't been canceled. That's all I have on the books now.0

I had a spot show up on my arm - I emailed pictures and the doctor is going to have his 1st patient-doctor phone visit this morning.0

I just had one televisit with my PSP and will have a phone visit next Monday for pre-genetic testing. My dentist has closed for at least two weeks so that appointment was canceled. Had lots of medical tests since the 1st of the year. Thankful for that, as waiting around would have been mentally and emotionally devasting.0

I had an appointment at Orthopedics this morning. First time they made me wear a mask because I have "symptoms" from the bronchitis diagnosed a couple weeks ago. No problem. I get it and I agree. Better over cautious now than people dying later.0

Greg, when is your surgery?0

Never mind, Greg. I just saw the answer on another post.0

Ophthalmologist (w/whom I had an appt. Mon.) had his nurse call to tell me he's decided to retire, but the dr. who bought his practice could still see me. I declined--not gonna drive 20 mi. and sit in a waiting room w/other seniors just to get my vision tested, especially by a stranger. (Our ophtho is a friend and doesn't bill us for the refraction part of the exam--Medicare doesn't cover refractions).
Starting in Jan., I had to wait 6 wks to see an ENT for my one-sided pulsatile tinnitus (to rule out AVM or tumor). Had to postpone when I needed to drive to South Bend (in a blizzard) for a funeral--so the appt. was scheduled for tomorrow. ENT's ofc. called Mon. to resched. till tomorrow...then yesterday called me again to reschedule it to late June. I asked the nurse if it's possible the cause could cause a stroke or worse. After an uncomfortable pause she replied "it might." But the unexpressed subtext was that even if I were to suffer a stroke, they're not about to waste an ICU bed on a 69-yr-old asthmatic cancer survivor. But I can understand. I canceled my cat's "well-baby" visit at the vet--who now requires patients wait outside in the car, communicate by text, and then hand over the cat carrier to the tech outside the front door. That'd make both my kitty & me nervous wrecks.
Have a May appt. with my derm, who says she's not yet canceling that far out...yet.0 -
And my husband (a cardiologist) has closed his office--his patients cancelled, both out of fear and reluctance to sit in their cars waiting for a text telling them they could come in. (He closed his waiting room). He is still working insane hours seeing in-patients at 3 hospitals, plus a few urgent visits and the rest by video at the union HMO where he has a side gig. I'm shocked if he gets home before 11pm most nights now. At least he's not visiting nursing homes (or so he promises).0

My check up was canceled for this week. I did talk to a NP from the clinic that asked me lots of questions about how I was doing. Then said I would be OK until next weeks treatment. That is still on. But they said there will be restrictions. Mask, temp check, questions about where you been, etc. At least I can still get treatment/0

My health care system has created an Drive-Thru for blood testing. I need to have my blood tested every two weeks because I am on blood-thinners. I have had to cancel and reschedule twice because my son's truck had problems. Although mechanics are considered essential personnel, this shop is having problems with people being sick, so they are short staffed. They are also having problems with the delivery of parts. Everything affects everything else0

The veterinarians here only do emergencies. My dentist re-scheduled for May.
We don't use video -tele calls -with my primary care. She called up, and I told her that I was fine--FRIDAY-- Monday she called for follow up- Whatever I had it hit on Sta. She sent in scripts to Walgreens. I send message through electronic med chart- and Walgreens calls up and lets me know the new med is ready. Suits me fine. I've talked to my doctor twice, and her back up twice. I don't have breathing problems. it's just the ear, throat, coughing, fever, and glued together with pus eyes. I seem to be over it now, which is why Missy and Jax have appointments in 6 weeks.
The governor expects our peak to be in May.0
