Yes, I'm on Vectibix. The rash (so far) is not as bad as what I got from Erbitux. My daughter says I should just think of how it makes me look like a teenager!

AmyJo, I am sorry that I took so long to post answers to your questions over 4 months ago. I am not too familiar with getting around on this site. If you get a chance, I gave you my email if you can find it and from there if you need more support maybe we can swap numbers. Big Hug!

I don't know if this will be encouraging or not. I came close to death a couple of months ago. If my husband hadn't been home, I don't know what would've happened. I truly believe God will get you through this, since He saved me from getting even closer to death. I'll be praying for you, so you can continue to encourage others.

TSFC mentioned diet etc. I'm not sure IF you ever mentioned that you Radically Changed Everything or not.
BUT...you have nothing to lose. Stop the Killing and TRY and start the Healing. Have you checked out the site Chris Beat Cancer ? You can look at my profile and journey for some ideas. Nothing to lose !!!!
Give your body NOTHING but Plant Foods as that is what we are designed to heat and MOST of us have Not been doing that our entire lives. It MAY be too late for many of us BUT it sure can't hurt to TRY and stop the cancer in it's tracks. Maybe our Killer T Cells can't kill or get rid of all the cancer cells and their horrible multiplication drill but MAYBE we can just halt it or radically slow it down.

Hi Amyjo. Sent positive thoughts your way today.

Amy I was diagnosed with stage IV November 9, 2012. I've had two surgeries now and done both eastern and western medicine. I just decided to stop chemo and see what happens. There is no disease showing on my scan and my CEA is below normal.
I think one of the reasons I have been so successful is my diet. Not sure if you have looked into any nutritional research but there is some good stuff out there. Check out my blog at www.tarasaysfuckcancer.com. I too will never give up.
Stay positive! Wishing your next lab results show some drops in the CEA.

    Hi Amy Jo,
For many years I was a hospice volunteer and I believe my patients/friends taught me a great deal. We laughed together, cried together and shared our dreams. But the one thing I learned best from them was how to die with peace and dignity. The one thing we all have in common is that sooner or later we will die.

Some of us face that fact earlier in life because of a disease, while others may go quickly in an accident or simply die later of old age. Those who are the last to die are often ready to go far before they actually do. They are usually worn out and tired, and it's not easy to be the last of your friends or family. There are few left to mourn and remember you. There is no good time to die.

Those of us with some time are fortunate enough to be able to say what we want to say to those we love while they can still hear it. The down side of that is that we must constantly face our mortality. I am amazed that you have survived a stage 4 diagnosis for 4 years. My statistics don't indicate that I am likely to have that long, however, you are a beacon of hope for me.
My philosophy has always been to remember that most people come into this world alone and they will leave the same way. Every life is just a loan. It is gift that must someday be returned.

Instead of grieving for the short time we had with someone dear, we should be celebrating that we had the privilege to share their lives at all. We should smile at the memories, every time we think of them. If we accept that we are going to die, and so is everyone else, there may be some peace in our lives. This is just the next step in the journey. Are we really so special that we should be spared, while everyone else leaves? To those who say "why me?" I say "why not me?". Why would I think that it should always be someone else? Do we always expect to have the last seat in musical chairs? If we've fought the "good" fight and done all that we can do, then it's time to ask for peace. For whatever reason, I now have peace and acceptance. I understand that I'm here for however long that may be, and I'm at peace with that. I didn't mean to preach to you, because each person must deal with that issue in their own way, and you seem to be doing a great job. I wish you all the best, but most of all I wish you peace.

    Hello AmyJo;

I read your query which you entitled time to die. In the body of the question you spoke about living. I was very moved by your words. Once a month, I attend a pot luck gathering up in WPB off Belvedere just west of Jog. I would consider it an honor if you would come. Please consider it. The date will be the afternoon of the 16th this month and I suppose I'll be bringing something green to eat or drink. You might enjoy it. There are no steps but at the entry. There are two rescued and gentle greyhounds in residence. You will find survivors there.

When they removed half of your liver, did you know that was an option in the beginning? I am just wondering because the doctor never said anything about removing mets in the liver yet. I don't know if he is waiting for the first scan or what?

AmyJo thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm ok with chemo forever. Chemo might suck but I think God we have it. Where would people like you and I be without it? Anyway, we're you able to have any surgeries, or just chemo and target therapies?

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/colorectal-colon-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
