I had a doctor's appointment to be canceled yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else?

They called me to verify the appointment and the nurse asked me a bunch of questions over the phone about how I was doing. Then she said to wait a minute while she talked with the doctor. When she came back on the line she told me that the doctor said that I didn't need to come in. But I should call them if I have any problems. I think they are just trying to keep those people like me out of the facility as long as I'm not having issues.

Anybody else seeing this happen?

I'm out of treatment but still have my port. They cancelled my port flush and told me that I could safely go three months without having it flush - that would be to mid-June.

I believe that most oncologists are cancelling appts. if a patient is doing well or extending chemo from two to three or four weeks if their scans are stable.

I had two appointments scheduled for today and had wondered how they would be handled. Heard by phone from both offices on Monday. One was pushed forward until next month. The other, I just spoke with the doctor by phone; he answered my questions; I answered his and scheduled a follow-up in 6 weeks. I have an oncology appointment on the the 29th . Haven't heard from them but assume that will be done by phone as well since it's just a follow-up. I do not want to skip bloodwork however as that seems to be the only tool they're using to monitor what my cancer may or may not be doing. We'll see. I think it's horrific that cancer patients are being told they have to sit on the back burner right now and Covid19 gets all the priority. I realize that Covid19 has to be stopped and if there are virus patients at any hospital then they are trying to protect vulnerable patients by keeping them away but our lives may be at stake as well. Hard choices

I had one post-surgical checkup to remove my drain. I was supposed to have two more, but both have been delayed. Right now I am scheduled for next Thursday 4/23. Whether that happens remains to be seen. I am feeling good so it's not worrying me too much. I just really want to see my doctor so I can thank her in person for everything she did for me.

I was supposed to have my quarterly scan in March, but it was canceled. My port flush has also been put off. They told me it would be okay if I waited as long as 6 months for that. I won't see my oncologist until June now (I last saw him in January). Fortunately, I had quit treatments awhile back so I'm not actually missing any treatments.

Before they canceled my appointment, I had thought I might go get my scan and then see if my doctor would just discuss it with me over the phone. I would have preferred that to (1) taking the chance of having someone who is sick with the virus there at the clinic or (2) taking up time that the doctor could be devoting to someone sicker than I am.

I suppose I should clarify. I will not risk anyone's health, including my own, just to see my doctor to say hello. I mean I am looking forward to seeing her, whenever I see her in person again, to be able to express my thanks to her.
I suspect this appointment will go forward because I haven't seen her since she took out my drain about a week and a half after surgery. She has said she really needs to do a hands on look at the site examination. I think it will make me feel a lot more at ease once I know if she thinks it is healing as well as I think it is. I do have a few questions that will be easier to ask or to clarify in person.

Veterinarian-2 dogs need shots-city isn't doing city license because of COVID-Why dogs can't get shots? .and they don't have paperwork for license because they don't have shots.
Dentist rescheduled for end of June.
Primary Care--appointment turned into phone appt, where meds were prescribed-I ended up with every med that are prescribed to hospitalized COVID 19 patients that didn't need a respirator. Super Duper codeine cough syrup-that also helped with the headache and aches and pains. The super duper eye antibiotic-my PCP and Dr. Kwan said their hospital had 2 patients with the red eye and they both died. Then the famous Z-Pak.
