The gift that keeps on giving. Now it's ulceration of the stomach lining

I just came from my gastroenterologist. I'd been having considerable stomach pain for a while and finally decided to have it checked out. I have significant ulceration with some detectable bleeding (although I've had no noticeable blood in stool). I had horrible stomach pain during chemo, especially the weeks I was given Neulasta. It was so bad one week they sent me for a CAT scan. Then various drugs have aggravated the situation. After I ditched anastrozole I was on Letrozole and lasted three weeks, stopping mostly because of extreme stomach pain. Then, of course, are the high levels of stress that comes as part of the game. I will get medication (oh, boy, more drugs!) & some dietary restrictions and see if we can get it calmed down
Anyhoo..... The gastroenterologist said he has seen this before in cancer patients who have undergone chemo. Anybody else out there experienced stomach ulcers?
P.S. My grandfather died of stomach cancer. How's that for a stress relief?

About the most serious stomach issues I had were from constant nausea. My chemo was back in the day when there were still kerosene powered lights on the street corners, before the time of anti-nausea meds. Surely they can get you fixed up. It's bad that you had to go that long before anyone figured it out though. Best to you.0

Bengal, I, too, am so sorry that this is happening. Did the gastroenterologist offer any treatment? I hope you get some relief soon.0

Bengal, just what you need to add to the list. I am sorry that you are dealing with this. Hopefully the plan they have you following will quickly bring you relief. Take care.0

Yes, Kp2018, he gave me a prescription for a medication ( can't remember the name of it) that coats the stomach lining, hopefully protecting it from bad stuff until it has a chance to heal. Also got a list of things to avoid including CHCOLATE!!! At times like this one needs one's chocolate! Going to be tough. I go back in 4 weeks and if things haven't improved, more tests.0

Bengal, I wouldn't know how to survive without chocolate or sweets. I hope you have better willpower than I do.0

Bengal, I'm with you and beachbum5817 on this. Chocolate is an essential nutrient for mental health when under stress. I sure hope the medication gives you immediate relief.0

Bengal - I hope your new medication works. There's not too much worse than severe stomach pain. Don't know how I would do about taking chocolate out of my diet!0

Bengal, yeah, stress eating is my friend, too. And chocolate is a necessity of life. I hope your tummy heals soon.0
