Good morning and welcome. I'm sorry for the reason you're here but I'm glad you found this site. I see you are staged at 1A - that is good news. Do you know which type of tumor you have? It would be helpful to know. There are a lot of good people here, people who have beaten cancer and people who are still battling it. Any question you have, you will be able to get an answer here - some of the members even work in the medical field, so besides answers coming from personal experiences, you will also receive info from professionals. What I would like to say to you today is that this is your life we're talking about. You must be totally selfish in your fight - you cannot afford to make excuses for doing even slightly less than everything for yourself. Anyone who would attempt to get you to do less is not on your side in this war.Your best option for treatment will always be a large teaching hospital associated with a major university. There you will find a team of specialists who have worked together for some time and see more cancer cases in a year than most local doctors will see in a lifetime. Without knowing where you live, I would still wager that you live within a 4 hr. drive from such a facility, and probably closer...it is worth the drive. Always. I drove 3 hrs. to get to my treatments, but I would not do it any other way if I had to do it over. I still drive 3 hrs. to my oncology checkups and have been for 15 yrs. now. If you are not already going to such a facility, get thee to one immediately. Do not stay local. Period. Best of luck in your journey - I look forward to reading more from you.
