Hi Kalindria, thank you so much for the warm welcome. So I still have yet to read your Journey but I guess I was more excited on replying to you. Its so funny how things work out sometimes. Just 2 days ago I was on my Iphone trying to find some answers and support to some of my concerns, and after 45 minutes of reading and research I found this website leaving me with a huge sense of relief because I came to find out that I was not alone. And that in itself was a huge help. So anyway, I see that you8 are still receiving chemo rounds and radiation. How close to the end are you and how do you feel about your treatment?

Hi Kalindria! Thanks for posting such a kind, encouraging message! I am still in shock in many ways, as I was diagnosed @6 weeks ago and had debunking surgery 1 month ago. I have never had a health problem before (other than some depression) and felt put to the test, even in terms of dealing with the pain, JP drain, Foley, etc. It is overwhelming trying to naked oneself aware of options, approaches, even finding the right oncologist, etc. I now know more and have questions about what was done, as well as well as all the steps now. I have read the Block book, the David Serban Shreiver book, Don Abrams' Integrative Oncology. I am trying to maximize supplements and nutrition, but there are quite variable notions of nutrition from different writers. I think I need to push on along these avenues, but still develop some peace of mind at the same time.... I'm very happy to hear of your remission- congratulations- keep up the excellent work!

Hi kalindria, no my surgery was not robotic.Doctor was not planning on such a large incision but on the debulking surgery thought he saw something up further so made the incision.Thank goodness he did because I had a small growth on my diaphram which he removed.

KALINDRIA we are so much alike. I, too, am Kaiser. I too have gout, but have a very hard time getting assistance with pain. Prior to surgery, my surgeon and pre op doc were.fabulous. they gave me norco. I got thirty pills and still have 26. I lived on ibuprophen which over time was doing harm to me so they took me off from it. Now a year later, I am able to tolerate ibuprofen again but am no longer living on it 24/7. Overall, I have been pleased with my.Kaiser care. I can see how those that don't hAve KAiser could be bankrupt.

Hope you are doing well. I am going back to work on Tuesday for just six hours.per week. Not much, but it is a start.

    Hugs,

    Jane

I'm thinking that it's a cultural thing- Vietnamese and Chinese are very nosy- My personal opinion is that it was somebody from the former Soviet Block-they just don't let go-and have weird ideas. Also the lack of understanding English words could be a factor. Some people quickly loose an accent, but they still don't know much. Like in the Ukraine, their main staple is pork lard mixed with flour, nuts, raisins, and they eat that. Even if the Russians weren't pushing in the door, and I was rich, I don't think that I'd visit my Internet friends in the Ukraine-eating baby squids in Spain and vietnam is bad enough-but lard?

I just wanted to thank you for your support and for 'liking' my comment to that woman who has been harassing me. My post was in response to a post that she put on my wall after I had asked her to leave me alone a few times, but she keeps trying to get me into some sort of an argument or debate and I am simply refusing to engage with her. I did complain to WhatNext and it looks like they have removed some of her comments so I am happy about that, and hopefully the moderator here will guard against things like this happening again because the vast majority of people here are wonderful, like yourself! :-) I always love reading your post and thank you again for supporting me. But how did you even know to read her wall? Take care! xoxoxoxo

I hope you had a great Easter. I have a question for you-when you first were initially diagnosed, did the thought to just give up ever cross your mind? My wife has mentioned it to me a few times, and every time she does it breaks my heart :(

    Thank you

Hi Diann, Great to hear from you. I am having a great day - for once, it's not raining in the northwest!

Noticed that you were interested in how to live with cancer. One thing that has been a tremendous help to me is a metastatic support group. Being with a group of women who are also Stage IV gives you a freedom to be honest about your feelings and hear how other women deal with those same feelings. Are there support groups in your area?

    Hugs, Betsy

Thank you, Kalindria, for following me; I hope I do not lead you into a wall - blind leading the blind style, so to speak!!

But seriously, so many on this site have helped me, and I am so grateful for the overwhelming gifts I have been given through cancer; love, friendship, support, help - the list is endless! I feel that I have so much to give, "paying it forward", that I cannot repay! But I will share the love and joy that I have found through cancer. Isn't that bizarre?! Finding JOY through cancer? Chemo brain MUST have attacked whatever brain cells were left unscathed! But it's true!

Anyway, we are about the same age; we share a similar disease, and I also received taxol and carboplatin. I'd be interested in hearing your story; how you dealt with it.

Be well. My faith is strong, and has gotten stronger through this fight. May God, the Universe - whatever Higher Power you believe in - heal you and protect you!

    Love to you, sister survivor!

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Congratulations on being a survivor!! Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian--tube-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
