Hi,
Thanks for the info. Once I start radiation its 5 times a week for 6 weeks. I will be staying at the cancer lodge there. Theres no way I can afford to drive 4 hours each way every day, especially with winter starting.
Thx,

Hi, SueRae! I saw you liked my answer just now, so I checked your wall. I'm sorry that you had a reoccurrence. How're you doing now? How's our crazy-but-wouldn't-have-it-any-other-way city treating you?0June 2017

Sue Rae--it sounds as if you're doing GREAT! That is sure wonderful news. I've been gone from the site for a long time, just enjoying life and keeping busy enough to forget about recurrence. That's what it's all about, really, isn't it?0April 2015

Dear SueRae1: I haven't been on WN for quite a while. I just wanted to tell you that your goodness and kind words have drastically helped me. You are a kind lady. My Mom had stage 4 renal cell and a primary breast cancer. Unfortunately her kidney tumor was found at 9cm. She fought and fought. Bless her precious heart, she is in Heaven now. Almost a year. Again, I look you as a Hero for all of us. You are very special. Thank you. Katie0February 2015

Welcome to the site. I am sure that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need someone to talk to. We are all in the same boat when it comes to emotions and feelings about our health. Just know that no question is to silly to ask and if you need to vent because you are having a bad day, we are here for you. I hope you find this site as helpful to you as it has been for me.0October 2014

Hello first time I add a comment here I signed up a few months ago and didn't seem to have time for myself... Just wanted to mention I have had a low platelet count too for about 10 months now. I finished treatment in Dec. 2012 and last Nov 2013 they started dropping. They were between 120 to to 110 but have now dropped to to 79-72 during the last 3 months.... so they tell me they will run more test when I go back in November. I have been feeling tired again lately and thinking I should go sooner. I just never now when to push things since they really don't seem to be too concerned. It was good to read that you have been dealing with the same, not that its good the we have low platelets but I guess to hear its not out of the ordinary for this new life after Cancer. Thanks for letting me vent.0October 2014

Hi there,
I just read a post you made where you mentioned your platelet count problems. Are you still having that issue? If so, have any of your doctors considered that you might have ITP in addition to the cancer? About 6 months after my last chemo, my platelets suddenly crashed, and my hematologist/oncologist quickly diagnosed me with ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia). They put me on prednisone and other treatments, but my platelets would not consistently go up above 10-20. Finally, they convinced me to have my spleen removed, which I did a few months ago, and my most recent platelet count was over 400. If you are still having platelet issues, you might want to mention this to your doctors.
Hope everything is going well.0September 2014 -

Thanks for all the tips. I really need them. Yes I have friends and family that have been coming to appointments me. Sometimes it's a little awkward but it's better than being the only there sitting alone. I didn't tell anyone right away0August 2014
