You should be proud. You finally made me see the wisdom of juicing. You're right. I simply can't process the whole foods right now. My digestive system is too messed up. I am continuing to drop weight rapidly. I certainly have the pounds to spare but dropping weight so fast is making me weaker. I got a juicer this weekend. Now I just have to figure out the right blend of veggies is best for my current health status.

You can post a question pertaining to any type of cancer on the questions page, it will be seen by everyone who looks at the page regardless of their particular type of cancer that they have listed. The only difference is that if you post a question, it is sent by the daily digest out to everyone with your dx overnight. More people see it. There isn't a way for you to post a question and it be included in the digest for other dx types though.

Let me know if this answers your question about that.

You can post a question about any type of cancer you want. The only difference is the daily digest sends the questions to the people of same type of cancer as you, but everyone sees those questions on the questions page. So you can ask a question about anything you want, it still shows to anyone who looks at the questions page. Make sense? Let me know if you need more info.

Hi,How are you doing? I'm doing better. I had strep for 3 months and a tonsil removed since I wrote you last- At least I think that I didn't talk to you about the tonsil. The primary care doctors were saying that my complaint was radiation. The 29th, I ran into an 80 year-old doctor. He did a strep test. It was hot. I'm taking my last antibiotic today. Just yesterday I started feeling better. Today I feel better. I want to thank you for helping so many people and cheering people up.

Hi, I really like the advice that you give to many people. It's nice to see people that want to help. But sometimes the helper helps too much-whatever. I'm not feeling so down-still cranky. I sent an electronic message on my chart that my thyroid had been out of range since january-and I really needed it be taken care of. The doctor ordered new lab work-saw it was still flat lined and he upped my dosage. I'm starting to have more energy-but it'll take a while. Feeling bad didn't happen overnight, and pulling myself up doesn't happen overnight.

Hi geekling, It took me awhile to figure out how to write on your wall, but I finally got the trick!
My health is meh!!! Can I kvetch?
But better than it was 2 years ago when I went through god only knows how many surgeries & biopsies & tests & trips to the clinic & hospital from (H) ell. (I think I shall write a book about that place.)
Now I am trying to recover from shingles, brought on by steroid shots for back pain. That sure didn't work!
Exhaustion, a fat stomach, arthritis in hands & back & just plain getting old is what's going on now in my worn out body.
But, I have a good attitude MOST of the time as I have a rather "different" belief system than most people and I don't want to go into further details on such a public site.
I do wish there was a cancer recovery group near me, but no such luck. That is my main whine.
Feel free if you want to talk at me & I will send you an email address.
I think you quite the brave one for going through anal cancer, wow, just wow!

They are radiating the areas where the traces of cancer are. I know you say not to worry, but I am nervous. The unknown is scarey at least for me. They are using the IMRT for one area and 3 DRT for the other. I am really hoping that radiation therapy has improved since your experience. I remember reading it was brutal for you. It will be a 5 1/2 week to 6 week process unlike all the series you had. Just reading over the list of possible "early" and "late" side effects related to the areas in it is scarey. What creams do you recommend for the areas?

Thank for your take on Master Perry. I also like your spelling of the state, I use it on my return address just to have a bit of radical fun. The men in black have not appeared at my door yet :-)

Hey there. I just read your recipe for brussel sprouts. I'm going to try that out TODAY! I've been down in the dumps and eating like crap lately. My body is telling me what a huge mistake that has been.

I'm from Louisville, KY. They only way vegetables were ever served to me when growing up was cooked to death and seasoned with some type of greasy meat. My impressions from youth on spinach, kale, cabbage, and brussel sprouts has been extremely negative. I've overcome my prejudice against spinach but only by eating it raw. I still can't stand the thought of it cooked. I have a recipe for a wilted spinach salad that is out of the world that I usually serve with broiled tilapia.

Have patience with me. I'm starting to learn the benefits of raw foods but it takes time to overcome 40 years of poor eating habits. I'm having to find new ways to prepare things that were nasty to me growing up. I'm finding with the proper seasonings and healthy oils that most things I thought of as gross are actually pretty darn good.

sorry to dump on you---- My thyroid is messed up-and I'm more emotional than I should be. Like everybody else, I have a dysfunctional family-I think that's the norm-My hounds woke me up too early-and I'm cranky. I watched a rerun of The Fifth Element- and I cried. I gotta get my thyroid cared for soon.

Hi G- how have you been doing? do you have some recipes to share that contain high protein and calories? I really need to get some weight back and maintain it. Radiation coming soon and I need to gain at least 10 more pounds.

I so appreciate your encouragement especially since I'm going through this alone. I must have been bad in a former life or not so great in this one. I feel terrible and don't have one person in my life that I can turn to for help. I have to start working on putting out better karma in the world. Living life as an island is no life.

Hi, I think that the Texas doctor rejects are sent here. Seriously, I have a good team now. It looks like the worst is over with. The post-radiation CAT showed all the cancer tumors are dead.

Thank goodness the hsopital I get my Mamos at keeps the results. They have 20 years worth. So at least I only have to get more tests if they see something they don't like, or, and this happens occasionally, the radiologist doesn't like the clarity, so the technician asks me to come back in the room for more torture. At least they make me wait until I get the all clear.

Hey, Do you think you are getting enough protein from the Raw foods? I read we do. Do you eat any eggs? Do you check the alkaline levels in your body? Did you have loss of lots of hair when you began to eat this way? I had Radiation, no Chemo. I started Hormone Therapy, but could not take the meds. Kristina raw foods.com has been a good source for recipes for me. I always loved to cook and bake, before, too. LOL. Congratulations on your successes, and we are Survivors !!!!! I am happy for you. Do you have others that eat like you, all raw? I can find no one here. I would love to live in Florida, I think, are you originally a Floridian? My Son has a home in West Palm Beach County, Lake Houston? Isn't life wonderful ? This is such a good support group. Thanks for reading, and answering my questions LOL. You have seniority , but I am a Senior, and also very determined to leave this world healthy, when my time is finished and I get to go and be with Jesus, full time. Thanks, again.
    You are loved !!!

geekling, your second post regarding the "Do you have a lot of anxiety about cancer returning...?" question really touched me. I had tears in my eyes. You said some very profound things. It has really given me some food for thought. Thank you.

    Hello,
I read your journey and you've certainly have had a rough road. The same thing happened to me with them saying hemeroids. Problem was by the time they realized it wasn't it grew to 7 cm and stage 3. I also read your answer to my question and I wanted to tell you your picture reminds me of my best friend, and that your answer was very helpful. I'm seeing my doctor this coming Friday (again) for a colonoscopy along with a biopsy and I will definitely speak to him about what you suggested. I see your page says diagnosed over 11 years ago? Are you still having problems, I hope that isn't too personal or presumptive of me to ask. I am going on a year at the end of June this year and although I am not sure if I now have a recurrance or not (I'll find out Friday) I was noticing alot of commonoloties in yours and my diagnoses and treatments. Again, I hope this is not to forward or anything and I hope to hear from you if you don't mind.

    Hi Geekling,
Got any tips on how to "take up meditation and yoga"? I live remotely, in the mountains in northern California, no "groups or centers" that I can find. My biggest difficulty is doing anything different in the morning, which would be a good time to do this stuff, huh?
    Thanks, Unidexter

Thank you for writing. I am not sure what you mean by trying something simple. I live in Akron, Ohio. My wife helps me but I am a very independent person. I hate to be a burden on anyone. I read your journey and am very happy that your outcome with your battle seems to be a victory.

You were referencing the young man at the Ted X seminar! Wasn't he amazing. 199 rejections out of 200 but he took that and got into a lab for 7 months and developed the .03 cent solution for detecting pancreatic, lung and ovarian cancer! What an incredibly bright young man.

    Dear Geekling,

I like much of what you have to say re cancer and the advice you give. Cancer is a disease that must be investigated and often does require treatment and immediately if not sooner. However, (I'm a trained Medical Librarian, and I personallyknow friends and relatives [not discussing my own BC] who had several kinds of cancer in which a wait and see attitude (after initial investigation was justified - one being my Dad's CLL, and the other being a friend's sister who had thyroid cancer which is very slow growing (usually). She eventually did end up having total body irradiation (courtesy of the Canadian government [twice]) and my late Dad eventually did (when his numbers revealed it necessary) have chemo, but it wasn't a violent kind of chemo that knocked him for a loop, so everyone's experience in jumping into the fray must be tempered a bit-depends on what's happening. Folks need to be very attentive and consult with a doctor first. One step at a time...

I am bo no means suggesting people be lax about their cancer and please do not think that I am saying that!

    Best wishes,
    AlizaMLS
