Hi EJK
You must be finished taxol now, just checking in to see how you're doing. I've completed 5 and already am SOOO tired, and no appetite. Were you able to eat? I also have developed mouth sores, makes eating even more difficult. Are you done with treatment now?0March 2014 -
Hi EJK. Just checking in to say I have had three rounds of AC so far and had bad nausea all three rounds even with meds. I am so looking forward to the fourth and final one being over. How have you been doing on the taxol and herceptin? My doc says that shouldn't be as bad, nausea wise, but I understand that numbness of hands and feet are common side effects. I hope you are coping well. Please let me know how you are doing.0February 2014

Hi EJK how long did it take after each treatment for the nausea and tiredness to go away? Does it take longer after every successive treatment?0January 2014

Hi EJK...did you feel nauseated after chemo on the same day? My doc gave me pills to start taking tomorrow but I have heard that I shouldn't wait til I get really bad, and I am already feeling nauseous. I don't think this bodes well!0December 2013

EJK, I am interested in gathering more info about nutrition. Has your nutritionist published any materials that might be shared? When I have cravings, I sometimes wonder if it is to feed the cancer! My oncologist suggested the acs guidelines, but I have tried to eliminate as much sugar, flour and dairy as possible. This is just another way I can fight. Hang in there and thanks.0December 2013

Hi EJK, you commented on my post re PT during chemo and it looks like we have the same chemo regimen. Since you have gone through the AC stage, and I am just starting, would you mind if I inundate you with questions? I am very scared going into this.0December 2013

Hi, I figured I could lose weight while I was on chemo, but the nurse told me I might GAIN... I have heard that everything has a sort of metallic taste..
I plan on cutting my hair a few days after my first treatment.. just shave it off so I don't have to deal with the fall out.. ha ha. I went to the thrift store and found a bunch of stocking hats for the Minnesota Winter...
I have a chemo class to go to.. think I have asked most questions I have, but I suppose something might come up. I am lucky to be retired, so will be able to rest and come and go as I please.
Hang in there.. Sheila0November 2013 -

I have read of this new offering. I am straight her2+++ for me herceptin had minimal side effects. Personally I would not turn down this opportunity to add this to my suitcase of hope. I assume your work up for the trial would include a heart check up, herceptin does carry a risk to the heart but even at my age my heart showed no damage. For me a two thumbs up and God's speed.0October 2013

I am so sorry about your diagnoses. I know what you must be feeling and going through with your thoughts. As the saying goes "been there, done that," but I would like to welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.0September 2013
