I hope everyone is doing okay. I have been away from the site for a couple of days. I guess my mind just needed a little break. Trying to staff of social media period.
Our local area lost three members of a family this week. Monday, the mother and son were found by the father- shot. On Thursday, the grandfather died. This family is a legal community in and of themselves. They WERE the judicial circuit's solicitors office (prosecutors office) for years. The circumstances behind the deaths of the mother and son are still being investigated (supposedly). The grandfather was elderly and seems to have passed of age related issues. Whether people loved or hated them, the loss of three members of such a well known family has been shock.
Another friend's sister in law lost her baby as a result of a car crash. Lots of heartbreak lately. Just trying to be a supportive friend. I will be back soon.

wow. It does seem like ugly things just come in like waves for a while, doesn't it? It is hard for a community to absorb a shock like murder, it's so unthinkable. So when it happens in your backyard, (so to speak) it becomes much more real. It reminds us, those plots we see on TV are nothing...real people, real lives, have so much more weight to them than fiction. I think we all are so much more comfortable with fiction sometimes. I am sorry for your community and the families involved, and the young mother whose dreams were abruptly shattered. Sometimes life is too heavy for all of us.0

legaljen, I’m so sorry about the deaths of people in your community. Those kind of deaths are heartbreaking and scary. As Marcie said, life can sometimes be too heavy. Sending hugs.0

Hi guys, I’ve been off this site too for a bit. Sorry to hear such tragic news. My next door neighbor died from Covid and his family is having a hard time. I have tried to help wherever I could. I’m doing ok, just had a terrible infection in my gums and had oral surgery to fix that. Now having an issue with one of my dental implants. I met a new cancer friend last week and told her about this site. She has advanced lung cancer, can’t have any more chemo or radiation. She’s younger than me and I’m trying to give her some positive attention. She’s so happy to have someone to talk to that understands what she’s going through. I’m hoping she will be joining us today on this site for additional support. Thanks for being here. We all need each other more than we really know.0

I am happy to see you Teachertina! I hope your new cancer friend will join us here because you are right - we need each other more than even we know. I am so sorry about your neighbor. It seems like I have been a lot more aware of increased cases in the last few months, but they have been very mild, nothing serious. I don't personally know anyone who died except a friend's father, and he was advanced age and LOTS of other medical problems. But, it's still a scourge, isn't it?0

Hi, Teachertina and everyone else. Just got a WN email notice of your comment, Teachertina, so looks like the notices are back. Good! I hope your friend joins us.0
-
It's definitely good to see that notices may be back. Sorry to hear you have been having such a hard time lately Teachertina. I hope your friend will be able to join us and finds the group supportive. If notifications remain intact and people come back, hopefully we will experience a revival of the site.0
-
Teachertina--glad to see you back on board, but I 'm still not getting notices from WhatNext about
comments.
I must check every day to see if anything new has been posted.0 -
Molly, I got like 2 notices and then they went away again. I'm thinking about starting a little "community" where some of us who like to keep in touch and get support can share our thoughts, experiences and news.
If interested, shoot me a message to whatnextjen2020 at gmail dot com.
I do not want to take away from WhatNext at all, and it is my hope that WhatNext will find a revival and we can then all move back out of my "community" and back in to WhatNext.0 -
I'm really sorry to hear about this loss, legaljen. Very sad.
I second the notions that sometimes life is too heavy for all of us and that we all need each other more than we really know. Both of them ring especially true for me right now as my husband is going through a serious medical issue.
I had so hoped that 2021 would be better than 2020 but it doesn't feel like it is. I know several people who have serious medical issues and other serious life situations that have appeared this year.0 -
I am so sorry to hear this. This is a national case, and I heard about it on the news this morning. So heartbreaking.0

lagaljen-- I tried to send you an email at the above address, but it was returned as "no such email address".
Also, now I am getting email notices, strange, as when I noted that, it magically was fixed!0 -
Molly, I cannot imagine why you can't get through to my email.
Bug, I am so sorry to hear about your husband having troubles. I hope things can get straightened out. My thoughts, prayers, good wishes are with you.
Terri, the case is certain to make national headlines. It is not an easy thing to grasp. Lots of speculation and theories about what happened.0 -

This is what I used, message again said "correct email address" and would not send

legaljen, will the community be a separate e-mail group or are you thinking of a Facebook group or...? Thanks.0
-
Bug, I am trying to launch a Facebook group, but I am wanting to be sure it is set up so moderation is not too difficult for me. I have to admit this is proving more difficult than I thought.
Molly, I see what you typed above- it does seem to be missing the @. I suppose perhaps you omitted that so it would not be x'd out on the screen. If not, perhaps the missing "@" is what is giving you difficulty. I have given the email address before and some people have gotten through successfully. Perhaps one of them can point out what may be going wrong. Other than the missing @, I can't figure out what could be preventing your emails from going through.
