Stomach tube leaking.

While going through this stomach tube ordeal in the ER over the last day, they told me at the ER that it's normal for them to leak.

The one that was in to start with leaked just a little but nothing like the one that came out or its replacement. I can push a little water, or fluid of any kind and it will leak considerably. I have to have a paper towel around where it enters the stomach.

Has anyone ever had a stomach tube leak?

Obviously, the stomach tube industry has not perfected their product. So sorry, Greg. I'm glad that you're okay and not facing another surgery.

Greg, I only had mine (in hospital) for 7 or 8 weeks and I don't recall any leaking. But now that I think of it, I had told you and everyone before that tube was "non-collapsible" like most hospitals use. Maybe that type prevents leaks? But still hurts like a b.... to yank out!

Greg, I’m sorry you’re having that problem. Mine leaked and had to be replaced. But not to the extent yours did.

This one is a problem. I am going to try to slip into the gi clinic Monday or Tuesday. This is turning into a problem.

Your fortitude, perseverance and your love of others is being tested. You may feel like a failure; like giving up - but from where I sit, you are a champion and example for all of us.

All of mine leaked a little, the last one more than a little. They got pretty nasty after a while. The last 2 I was just able to pull right out. They make a band with a pocket that you can fit over it instead of using a paper towel, You just have to wash it every few days. You are a warrior Greg.
