Since I have to take everything by feeding tube now, it's a huge draw on time for me.

I have to crush up all my meds to push them in my feeding tub. Then to eat, some things have to be warmed as it's very uncomfortable to push really cold foods into the tube. And, depending on how fancy I want to get with my recipe at any one given setting, it could take an hour to mix it up, put it in the Nutribullet and clean up. It surprises me how much time it takes.

This is another reason that they should approve your disability. How could you possibly work on any job with a feeding tube? My heart breaks at hearing how callous how disability system is.0

What an ordeal - so sorry to hear you are having to go through this. It's really amazing how our bodies operate and how much we take for granted.0

Greg, my heart breaks that you are going through this. It was never a problem with me because I was finally able to get off the feeding tube before I was discharged and I was able to actually eat food. I know that this might sound off the wall but - do you think there is a commercial vendor that prepares food for feeding tubes? Perhaps you could ask the dietician or doctors about it? It's only a crazy thought. If not it would be a great business for someone with money to invest in.0

Can you make several helpings at one time? If it was me, I would probably try to make a bunch of meals at one time (I HATE to cook and do as much as I can to minimize how much I have to do it). Can you freeze extras or refrigerate? Or, maybe everything has to be done fresh. Sorry you're having to go through so much0

I had a friend with a feeding tube & he bought a prepared solution for his tube, it was available canned and his insurance- Medicare, paid for most of it.
I'm sure your doctor or local hospital could steer you to the company that makes it.0 -
Greg, I guess I wasn't as crazy as I thought. After Molly72's comment I researched a little. There are several companies out there that sell your meals already prepped. The ones I looked at all accepted insurance. Take a look and see what you can find. One I looked at was realfoodblends.com. Good luck.0

I should have been clearer, I have a good formula supplier, I use them now. But I like the idea of having all honest natural ingredients. I've been experimenting with blending fruit. Oce cream0

Greg - you are amazing...share so much realness with us. I started out with you welcoming me - I bought your book and read twice - and I love the support and empathy you have for all of us! Just another plot twist, right??! Love, blessings and much respect! Pamela Burge0

Greg, you Rock. Have you thought about frozen yogurt instead of ice cream? It supposedly has the cultures even when frozen. Some companies even make it with milk that has no added rBST hormones.

I just now read that you do indeed have a vendor for food. Can't blame you for wanting to mix it up and not get tired of your menu. Glad that you at least have something should you not feel well enough to play with your Nutribullit.0

Greg - I have been thinking about you lately. You are amazing. I don't know anything about feeding tubes, but I wish you all the best.0

Hope your weekend is going as well as possible! You've been on my mind as well!
I remember using a LOT of Muscle Milk during my chemo days to keep my protein up. It seemed to be loaded with the most protein. Will protein drinks like this help too? I know that missing the 'taste' is a big thing. Wish there were easier answers...0 -
Thanks for all your comments and recommendations. I have a Nutribullet Rx to blend up whatever I want with my formula.
I know how many calories grams of protein and everything else i need each day. So I start with half of the formula I need each day and add ice cream. Chocolate, honey. Or what ever has been advertised on TV that day, so I've managed to keep some variety involved.
Thanks for your suggestions!0
