The overall public ignorance about everything to do with this coronavirus is just amazing to me

Oh wow, Molly 72, I thought you and I lived close to each other? I guess not because the population of my county is 367,601 with 2,217 reported cases and 116 deaths to date. Interesting. Maybe I got the wrong stats? I'm sure there is a lot of room for error in reporting, but even if there were 290 deaths, I don't think that is a big percentage of three hundred, sixty seven thousand, six hundred and one persons. Hey, I don't have a dog in this fight, fiddler just made me curious about the numbers.0

I got the stats from the NY Times, but didn't have the population of our county.
Will recheck, but note that the 23,200 & 2700 deaths is the county next to ours.0 -
MarcieB-- Obviously the heat has gotten to me! Plus several medical tests & procedures last week (including the dreaded COVID test) has no doubt addled my brain.
Still too many cases & deaths! And we have excellent hospitals in our area.
Here is a cut & paste: Cases & deaths in our county only

Molly, you are so right - too many deaths for sure. We are so fortunate to be close to a major University Hospital, but it's still not fun to go for tests or procedures...ugh. I hope you are done with tests and have had some positive results. (!)
And I hear you about the heat! I am taking an estrogen inhibitor and I am wondering if that is making it more difficult to tolerate the heat? I began taking it last August so it hasn't been a year, but I feel the heat a LOT more this summer.0 -
@MarcieB, I hear you about the heat and estrogen inhibitors! The heat definitely sends me straight into "overheat." I got my prescription for Arimidex on March 14th and our county and state really started shutting down on March 16th, so I have had a perfect storm of hot flashes, COVID panic and spring/summer coastal heat. I live with a thermometer nearby in case I start feeling really hot. Starting the hot flashes at the same time the world started COVID has been an experience for sure. I hadn't thought about the medicine making the heat seem even less tolerable.

BTW, this question, and thread, has NOTHING TO DO WITH BREAST CANCER!0
-
No it doesn't Fiddler, but it DOES have to do with our medical safety and our concerns about those people who ignore the scientific community, and common sense.
You know, those who bar-hop & play beach bunny bingo with no masks & certainly no "social distancing"-- Those type who bring the Virus home to mom or grandmom who just maybe is just getting over breast cancer.0
