That's just unimaginable! My highest bill ever was 375,000 and I thought that was crazy. What's been your highest bill? These things are like jokes anymore, like we are playing with monopoly money.

    Back in 2006 for right kidney removal - only after a heart bypass was complete. 7 weeks in hospital. 3 in rehab. My 20% was $250,000

    The list price is frightening - I have a Medicare Advantage plan - costs me $45 extra - but the max-out-of-pocket is $6,700, and there is copay assistance for that.

    That's why people sometimes have to file bankruptcy after a large medical bill. It gets me so sad. I know we were in bad shape when my son had his accident ($100k) and my cancer the same year. It took us quite a while to catch up. And we had decent insurance. That's what payment plans are for.

    1.1 million for a 70 year old man with COVID-19. $9.736 for his hospital bed and care, and $2,835 a day for his ventilator. He's covered by Medicare, and that will pay most of his bill. He had care for about 2 months.
