How do you get humility and gratitude? This worked for me

Sweetie threw me a surprise dinner party last night with a small group of 60 or 70 family and friends as a "last supper" before heading off to Vandy tomorrow. Read my thoughts about it here>> http://bit.ly/2U4nc41

What a wonderful surprise! Your Sweetie is very special, but you already know that! You sound ready to get in there and get this done and over with! Waiting so long must have been torture! Your big job after is to get better. Behave and do what they tell you! I found that most helpful when I got frustrated! We all will be waiting for the word that everything went fine and it’s successful! You are a WARRIOR!! Best wishes to you and your family!0

I join everyone else here on WhatNext in thanking you for all you have done for us. I also will be thinking of you with positive thoughts on the 28th. Please know that we care.0

I think there will be a collective holding of breath until your surgery is done. I know where my thoughts will be on Tuesday. All the best of luck to you and Donna.0

Greg, what a great party! You are a very guy to have such great wife. She is a warrior to!
Thanks for all that you have made of the whole WhatNext network, it would be much less without your tireless effort. For what it's worth, I will be there with you in spirit and will be shouting encouragement from the sidelines. As I have said, you are a warrior and you have the courage to come out on the shiny side of this fight. You are not far from my thoughts.
My continued best to you & yours0 -
Thank you all so much, your well wishes and positive thoughts are touching. Sometimes you go through the motions in doing your job hoping that you are making a difference but not really knowing until people start to give a little feedback, like this. I sincerely appreciate it. We are headed to Nashville later today to spend the night since I have to be there at the crack of rooster crowing. It's that or get up at 3AM tomorrow and I think not. I will have someone post a report once I'm out of the OR and on my way to mending. Keep those vibes coming!0

Know that we will all be sending our most positive thoughts to you and Donna tomorrow and in the days afterward.0

Good thoughts winging your way. Safe travels to Nashville. Hopes that Donna has a comfortable waiting room, that the wait isn't terribly long and that she doesn't drive herself bananas. We all look forward to getting news that all went well in surgery. Good luck, dude. Don't worry about this place -- we've got this! Healing hugs to you and Sweetie!0

Wow, that was incredibly moving - all the way around- from the party to your thoughts as you face the next day, to the heartfelt messages from your friends. We are all so concerned and will be waiting to hear how things go and of course, we will be there with Donna in spirit as she waits out the very long day. We look forward to seeing you back here soon and wish you continued strength and courage as you face your "new norm." Godspeed our friend!0

Its great to hear that so many wonderful people are there to
Support you and your lovely wife0 -
It sounds like it was a great party. Lovely write-up, Greg. Thank you for sharing. Best, best, best wishes and many prayers and hugs for you and Donna tomorrow and beyond. That hospital doesn't have a room big enough to hold the people who love you and are rooting for you. We're all looking forward to hearing how you're doing.0

Thank you all again. The first leg of this party has been completed, we have arrived at our Hotel in Nashville, I can look out the window and see the Hospital. It's kind of daunting to look over there, about 2 blocks away, and think that tomorrow, I'm going in as me, and coming out as me 2.0 Maybe it will be a better, more improved version, kind of like the million dollar man that used to be on TV.
They have already called me to tell me our assigned operating room has changed not only floors but to another building. Not a problem, we are frequent flyers there and know where everything is.0
