Well crap lady, sorry you had a scare and a stay in the hospital. I can not really address your question but thought you could use a smile so here goes- I think I told you about a cruise Paul and I were taking through the Panama Canel in September. Well, my husband found out September is the height of hurricane season, read somewhere about rogue waves and to top it off, we are traveling through the Bermuda Triangle, so at 75 years of age, he finally made out a will. I had been after him for years to do so but it took all of the above to do the deed. Paul found a site online and made out a simple will equally dividing up our assets among our three kids. He had the will witnessed by three office workers and made three copies , giving one to our eldest son. No way am I recommending you do this, a lawyer seems the most protective way to go for all concerned. Just thought this craziness on my husband’s part might lighten your day. How are you feeling now? What’s new m beside the blood clot? Oh, and how did you get a blood clot?

Hi kalindria, I am sorry to read about your sister’s diagnosis and the back pain you are currently experiencing. I hope the Granix injections help. Even though you are far away, your support and love transend the miles. I wanted to let you know the OCRFA conference was a great experience . I met many wonderful survivors . Next year the conference will be closer to both of us, especially you, as it is being held in Seattle. I hope you will consider attending the conference if circumstances allow. I know you would also find it a rewarding experience.

Hi, Kalindria! I just learned (about an hour ago) I have a spot on or next to my colon, so I'll be getting a CT guided needle biopsy. Apparently they don't know if its a recurrence of my Fallopian Tube cancer or....

How did your recurrences present? I've been on that anti-hormone pill since I completed chemo 3 years ago, but I've always worried about a recurrence.

    Cancer SUCKS!

Peek a boo lady. I was going to contact you next week. Have you had your tea yet with the family?I am having a pelvic CT scan next Tuesday, my gyn/ onc ,who is a resident, ordered it because of some light vaginal discharge I am having. CA 125 done weeks ago was fine and I am feeling fine no harm having a look see I guess. I will be off to Washington DC next week and attending the Ovarian Cancer National Conference, I am really looking forward to my first conference and learning about all the advancements they are making on this xxx disease. I know you are much cooler up there weather wise. Redding area for the remaining days in July will be over 100, so, I am a bit envious. So how are you doing?

Hey lady, I’m back!!! New Orleans was quite the experience. The first night a thunder storm and both hubby and I got soaked. Next day we marched to a Walgreens and bought rain ponchos. Saw several parades , one at night. The colorful Zulu parade, was a big treat.Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras the weather was perfect. There were only two parades on Mardi Gras, the Zulu parade being one of them, none at night. The French Quarter was flooded with costumed revelers on the big day. The food was yummy. So glad we went. Wished we had gone years ago but glad we finally got to experience it all.

Hi Kalindria, my name is Linda and Lynne-I-Am has suggested I reach out to you. I've just read your journey and so happy to see the word remission just so recently.

I am/was a stage IIIC survivor for 2 years but now have a recurrence of two spots (larger about 1.5cm) and 'fairy dust' that showed up on PET Scan. Two days ago I had my first round of CarboPlatin/Doxil. I've read a few stories about Doxil and am a little nervous. I would love to know your Doxil experiences. My next treatment is 4 weeks from today and would appreciate knowing more.

Other than long term neuropathy in my feet and hands to a lesser degree, my side-effects were minimal during primary treatment in 2015 and I returned to a normal life after NED/Remission in July 2015.

This time I am fighting this long distance... from rural Colorado to Houston and fret about the coordination of treatment and ancillary treatments.

Like I say, I'd love to connect with you and others on this site about Doxil (and the possibility of adding Avastin) to the treatment.

    Linda

Hello, thank you Kalindria for reaching out to me.
This Christmas was extremely stressful after being diagnosed with stage 3 c ovarian cancer the Tuesday before this holiday. I thought it was a stomach bug, however, my primary doctor believed I was constipated. When the pain was so bad I went to the Emergency Room only to me told I had cancer.
After doctors’ appointments at UPMC Arnold Palmer Cancer Center and Women Magee they came up with a treatment plan. Now I’m schedule to start 9 rounds of chemo then surgery, then another 9 rounds of chemo (Paclitaxel and Carboplatin).
    Praying this treatment works.

Hi lady, just stopping by to say hi and see if you have grown webbed feet yet. We are getting slammed by storms down here. Lots of snow in the mountains. I know you had some very, very, low snow levels up there. How is the clinical trial going?News update on me: I broke my Lt. ankle a few weeks ago so have been hobbling around in a cast on crutches. Could have been worse, could have broken a hip. I was just out walking the dogs, trying to keep them out of oncoming traffic , when I went off the asphalt lip of the road and into someone's front yard. Luckily someone stopped and gave me and the dogs a ride back home. Hope your able to get out and about. Stay safe.

"This is a great place to connect with others who can help you, share experiences, answer questions, offer links to resources, and provide moral support. I think you'll like it. You posted this to Laurenda..."
Then you posted this to "whickerd - I am loving your sass and spunk in dealing with some of the difficult, non-responsive folks here. BRAVA!"
I find it hard to believe you could put down the people on this wonderful site as easily... The majority of us are here to help, console and pray for each other...?????

Hi Kalindria. I live in Canada and I know Safeway does deliver, but you have to go to the store and get your own groceries and they will deliver for you. I just phoned Safeway and they are not set up yet to get your groceries online in Canada. Too bad because I would have gotten my groceries from them. I will just keep looking. Thanks anyway.

Hi lady, stopped by to see how you are doing and for a bit of advice. I learned today that my gyn/onc is transferring to another hospital and my Dec. appointment has been rescheduled with another gyn/onc at UCDavis, felt like the rug was pulled out from beneath me. My doctor will be at UCSF. My first instinct was to follow my doctor, he followed me through surgery, chemo and for the past three years has been my go to. Doing research I found that UCSF has three large campuses ( and two speciality locations) .Public transportation seems daunting and if we drive, traffic and parking a nightmare. My question, you moved, and you switched doctors, if your same gyn/onc moved near you, would you return to him or stay with your medical team? Guess I could give the assigned gyn/onc a chance, just need someone else's input.

Dear Kalindria: just wanted to say im praying so hard that you get the trial you want. You are one of my favourite WN friends. You bring so much to this community table. You have so much goodness to share.
I, too, was dx in 2013 but not as bad as you. Only stage IIIb however a very aggressive and very poor pronosis that I too, am highly blessed to have made it this far. I also had a recurrence of that triple negative primary tumor and 2 weeks ago, had it removed at Dana-Farber in Boston, after 6 months of IV/port carbo and taxol. Still havent received the patho on it.
I used to live on Vashon Island , right on the water. It was a dream-like place with orcas swimming by, gorgeous flowers and many, many hummingbirds. I say this because it might just do you a world of good if you are up to it, to go over on the ferry and just drive around and soak in the beauty. People are very friendly there.
There's a farmer's market on ??Saturday and or Sunday.
My dog loves camping, too, which i might be doing for a month of chemo coming up here soon. Its too expensive to stay in Boston for a month and i live 2 hours each way from Boston ( including traffic), so finding a campsite outside of Boston will be an adventuresome compromise. Beware of the Deer tick!
Be well. Im rooting for you Kalindria!

    Kalindris,
Just read you are recurrent. So sorry to hear this. I started chemo again in April. I'm on Gemzar/Carbo. My CA 125 still hasn't got back to normal. My marker went up prior to my latest round from 5p.3 to 43. Not a big rise, but we only want to see it go down. I wish you all the best as your journey, unfortunately, continues.
The Gemzar gives me a lot of fatigue. I can hardly wait to get this one behind me.
    Hugs from Vancouver Wa!
