Hi lhobbsn99, welcome to the site. I myself was diagnosed IIIC serous epithelial high grade ovarian cancer in 2013. I came to WhatNext then to connect with other survivors and found a great site for information and support. I am sorry you are having a recurrance. I have a friend and fellow ovarian cancer survivor called kalindria who is also on WhatNext . She is taking Doxil at present and.can probably give you a clearer picture of its side effects although everyone reacts differently to medications. Look her up and post a message on her wall. I know she would be happy to share the information. I too am happy to talk anytime. At WhatNect we are all here to help each other.0September 2017

Hi there, lhobbsn99 and welcome to WhatNext.com. I am so glad to have you with us although I hate the reason. I have a very similar cancer as yours but mine was stage IV. I'm also a bit older than you are. I was diagnosed about a year-and-a-half ago and am now in remission with no signs of cancer on my scans. The good news is that if they can do that for me, the future looks bright for you!
Won't kid you, there were a few tough moments but I never doubted that my doctors could help me find a way through this crazy maze. I feel so much better than I did a year ago and am looking forward to lots of happy tomorrows. You can too.
The fine folks at WhatNext.com are always around if you have questions, want info on how we handled things or if you just need to vent. Welcome!!0March 2015 -
Hi there! I know the shock of dealing with one thing only to have it be something else. I went to the doctor last Feb w/difficulty breathing & fluid retention. I was imm3ediately sent to the ER, I was told I had an enlarged heart. It was the determined I had fluid around my heart instead. I had never had surgery or spent the night in a hospital, but at 50 that's where i was. They removed 900 cc's of fluid from around mt heart. I was told that this could be caused by cancer, but most likely was viral. The piece of skin didn't contain cancer cells, so I thought I was in the clear. A few hours later they came in & said I had cancer. I was sent for a CT scan & the following day a pelvic ultrasound. I had 3 golf ball size tumors. I had my 1st chemo on Valentines Day last year. I finished up in July & so far I'm doing good. I do get anxious when appointment times roll around. I'm assuming they will get easier as time goes by.
Much luck to you & take good care of yourself.

Hi, and welcome to the site. Sorry you had such a shock, others here have experienced similar incidences, they go in for a certain procedure or surgery and surprise, Cancer is found. I am 68 and was diagnosed with high grade serous stage IIIC ovarian cancer in 2013 after being misdiagnosed for seven months with GERDS. Everything moves so fast once you are diagnosed. Debulking surgery, chemo, hair loss, it is a lot to deal with. Everyone here has had their lives changed by Cancer and can certainly identify with your fears and stress. Please take the time to reach out to any of the WhatNexters. ask any questions, continue to share experiences, post some pictures or favorite sayings. Chemo is not easy, but it is DOABLE. Take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself. We are all here for each other. Take care, talk anytime.0March 2015
