Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian-tube-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

You may also find our "Beginner's Guide To Cancer" page helpful Click Here for that=> http://bit.ly/10BQKCi

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend

Hi there - I saw your post about "maintenance" avastin. I am completing my 6th cycle of Carbo/Taxol/Avastin for Stage IV Uterine cancer. Just found out this morning my oncologist wants 1 year of maintenance avastin. I am upset because I thought I was done. How has yours treatments been just on the Avastin? Side effects?

I really appreciate your answer to my question about being positive. I totally relate to your statement about not living up to the expectations of others! I wanted to jump up and high five you! I do not want to be a downer, but sometimes I am down. Especially when chemo makes me feel so sick!

    Thank you for understanding!

Thanks for writing back. I live by myself and sometimes wonder if I'm losing it. I did visit a therapist and have medicine for panic attacks (which I get). I know many have a worse situation but sometimes I just can't seem to control my depression symptoms.

I hope you can manage both physical and mental health needs. Maybe, you can just have a spa day sometime in between appts. A nice massage, facial, nails, etc. Maybe a nice lunch and a movie too. You don't have to go far to find some peace and relaxation. Also, if you need anti-depressant, anti-anxiety meds, don't be afraid to ask for them. They might help make your treatment more tolerable. If finances are a problem, ask your hospital for help. They usually have some kind of charity for low incomes, poor insurance coverage. Good luck to you.

Innadoon, I just read your response to a survivors question. How your life is not living up to "great expectations" You never know what one little thing you might say, on this site for instance, that makes all the difference to someone. Please don't sell yourself short. After my first battle 11 yrs ago I wanted to "make a difference", I wanted to be "sorely missed" when I was gone. So I started volunteering for different things, Ocean Conservancy, Audobon Society, Angels on Horseback. I never had kids so I started babysitting for friends. I HAVE made a difference I think. Just by being I made a difference, I just didn't realize it

Innadoon and others re : port discomfort. Is it a Bard port cath?

Ask for a port study if discomfort persists, as mine was broken in 2 and lodged in my right ventricle.

Thank you for the positive response to my question. I do let her know (mostly) how I am feeling. I just don't want her to worry about me. ya know? I am a very upbeat and positive person with a sense of humor so I try to do anything possible to make her smile on her down days. I know it helps her. Its nice to know what the patients think and like to get from their support systems (family, friends, etc.) It helps the rest of us that have no idea what the hell to do or say and how to cope with it all.
    Thank you again!!

Innadoon, read my last post. Call American Cancer Society. They tell me if it changes, it most likely is cancer.

Thanks to repoinding about depression. I have 3 0r 4 weeks of treatment and then I will go on a mental health vacation. My night meds are fine but not tthe days meds.I'm going to see the oncology social worker tomorrow to see if he can get a prioity appointment with my Psychiatrist, not the walk in clinic.I've been so sad I've been crying. I haven't cried for 7 years. I didn't enen cry when they told me I had cancer.I didn'teven cry when they told me Ihad cancer. Some people told me talk a walk, talk to your support team but they don'tunderstand what bipolar is all about. You just can't shake mania and deprssion without medication adjustment and pschotherapy.

My daughter is on a MEK inhibitor trial at Sloan Kettering in NYC. It has kept the cancer stable but the last scan showed a little thickening in the bowels which the doctor said he wasn't too concerned about and they would keep an eye on. Does this mean the trial is not working anymore. She was doing so well on it. Now I am scared. No other treatment worked for her. There are alot of side effects but it is well worth it.

Hi innadoon. I haven't been keeping up on this site. Needed a little space from cancer. You were the first one I checked up on. It has been a long battle for you with very little rewards. I am glad you are in a place (physically as well as mentally) that will actually help you. Warm wishes to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep in touch. I will pay more attention to this site. Catch you later.....:)
