I wrote the previous blog because I saw you had posted a couple times. I have read the notes on your wall and I deeply apologize for speaking out of touch.

I think he claimed was referring to the fact that you you're so considerate of other people and still feeling like this. You are truly my hero. Lorie

HI Chris, I just stopped by to see how you are doing. I read your response below that you're just barely hanging in. I pray the new med will offer you some relief.

Even when I don't drop by here, you are on my mind and in my prayers. Donna

Hi, thanks for your thoughtful input about the regular oncologist. Placate and manipulate--that was easier when I was young and pretty. Mostly what I did was run away and hide. I'd get my paper record and tear out pages. Get a new start---+

My body temp is 96.8 to 97.2 when I'm healthy. Since I've been a kid, I've known that some doctors can't handle that. Then I have a genetic glucose problem. It can be anything anywhere-but I mostly have low blood sugar.

My glucose levels start cycling after surgery, trauma, or a screaming doctor. High, higher, then crash. They say it's from possible adreniline and testosterone levels going up to.

My son is the same way. The VA has this on front of his chart. He was depressed, and they did ECT. The VA was going nuts. They had some hotshot resident, who told the nurses to ask me about his glucose. He just about danced around the recovery room. If my son looks fine- and has other normal responses- leave him be and quit pestering his mind and body with more testing.

I really don't want to be under the care of somebody that doesn't like me and raises his eye brows and snickers when I insist that I didn't put ice in my mouth before my temp was taken.

Hi lady. See you will be giving out the treats tonight. If not too much trouble could you let me know how many kids came to the door? I will be lucky if I get six. Have a great night, and enjoy all the costumes.

Hello, you have been on my mind of late. I know you are busy so no need to reply. Just want you to rest easy. Your sweetness and charity are like a soft pillow against which to lay one's head. You have made a huge impression on me. Written with love and deep admiration .. from 'he claimed' xoxox

Hi, how are you and your hubby doing?

I'm OK- been busy- voting-doing lots of opinion-comment writing for my hair-brained presidential candidate. I'm really out of step because I voted Libertarian for Johnson.

Anyway, I was up at the VA, and I got the visitors laghing when visiting hours ended.

My son lived at Coast Guard housing on Red Hill, Hawaii. I could see the Army hospital from the front porch, about a 40 minute walk-but i would have had to scale 2 8 ft chain link fences topped with about 2 ft. of razor wire, run across 4 freeway lanes, and evade Army and private security and their dogs.

I decided that I'd catch the bus to Tripler Army hospital and visit my son.

I got up, fed the grandkids, got them off to school and walked to the bus stop. The bus wound around an Army base, through Sand island, through an AF base, and pearl harbor. I changed busses, and wound around a slum, and China town. At Waikiki, I changed busses again. I went through down town, Beretania Street, through neighborhoods-down the freeway to the Army hospital. I could see my son's house from the bus stop. I got out, I found my son's ward-he was knocked out with lots of opiates. He had his head on the floor, and his feet wrapped in the bed safety rails, so his hips and legs wouldn't fall on the floor. We mumbled, and he even laughed.

After 15 minutes, I went back to the bus stop, and repeated the process. freeway, hills, downtown waikiki, navy base, AF base sand Island back to Coast Guard housing. It took about 4 hours total on the bus. The grandkids were waiting for me. I could see the hospital about half of a mile away-across the freeways-

The next day my DIL rented me a wreck, so I could drive over to the hospital without going to pearl harbor or Waikiki.

Thanks for supporting others by offering advice and positive wishes! It does make a difference for them to see that other people have been there and are doing OK.

Chris, I was thinking of you and would've written on your wall soon. Bernard is working steadily, as am I, to clear the place. Our attorney got us a postponement until November 30 in which to make our small apartment look okay, and we will do so. Thank you for your concern.

How are you doing, and your husband? I send you my biggest hug! Love you -

Now that I read your wall posts I see that you are in pain (I guess I thought your meds were taking care of that - naïve me). I'm sorry and angry that you are suffering. Angry at the gods, I guess. Another (gentle) hug, Chris. Love, Carol

    HI Chris,

I don't stop by as often as I should to let you know you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers! I am glad to see that he's doing well and pray for you to get some pain relief. My dad had bone mets from his lung cancer (before we even knew he had cancer). I recall the pain it caused him. Were it not for that, he would have barely suffered with his cancer.

Praying you have a lovely day. It has finally gotten a little cooler here in Texas and I am enjoying being able to sit outside and enjoy :)

    Hugs, Donna

Hi Chris, Sorry to read you are feeling poorly. Tried hypnotism yet?
Wishing you more care free days, Hon. Maybe time to stop accepting other people's pain and woes and simply lay your own burdens down? Wishing you a much lighter load.
