    Hello fashionstylist, my prayers and thoughts are with your family friend (Mom?). It was hard for me to continue with my daily routine, I didn't have any family support, and knew nothing about eating appropriately to fight cancer. But, I did do my laundry, rest all the time to heal and clean, clean, and clean most of my awake time. Otherwise, not to sound depressing but honestly I was just fighting all the way through to just make it. Tell your friend/family member that she/he will have their own personal journey and to trust in yourself and be strong!

    Hi, I was browsing your wall and I have the same issue with my mom's current Onc. We have an appointment with MD in Orlando, how did you find them? Where they more helpful? The place my mom is going now basically told her: "Welp, we can extend survival, be here Wednesday for Chemo, and we'll go from there".
    Needless to say I did not find that satisfactory, at all. Thanks for any feedback, and hope all is well.

    After all the tests were done and 2 local surgeons blew me off I went to IUPUI Simon Cancer Pavilion in Indianapolis - took all my gp's notes and all my test results with me. The oncologist and surgeon took 2 hrs. going over all that, then made their own diagnosis and laid out a treatment plan. A large treatment facility is the only way to go with cancer. Anderson has an excellent rep - your mother would be in good hands there.

    Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of cancerous tumor so the doctors have more practice curing that one, plus stage 1A means early diagnosis. These are good things, if there is anything good to be said for any cancer. I had adenocarcinoma stage 2, and I am cancer free for just over 12 years now. I have heard that you can't just walk into Anderson without a referral from your doctor - I don't know that for sure though. It's something to check into. As for the insurance, I'd just call Anderson and ask. Best of luck to you and your loved one.

    Here is a prayer for your loved one

    Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear;
    Rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God will deliver you out of them.
    He has kept you until now; but hold fast to his dear hand
    and He will lead you safely through all things;
    and where you cannot walk,
    He will bear you in his arms.
    Do not look forward with fear to what may happen tomorrow.
    The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take car
    of you tomorrow and every day.
    Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
    Be of peace then and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations
    Blessings CELLKILLER

    I don't know the insurance answer, but if you call MD, they will have someone who can talk to you about it. However, it would be worth paying out of pocket for the second opinion if you need too. MD is the best in the country and one of the best in the world. Good luck.
