Geekling, thanks for more grins this lovely Sunday morning. You have a way of making me laugh that no one else does.

Truth is, and as i have stated in the past to you directly and not on someone else's post ... i do not like you nor do i respect you nor do i think you are even half (or a tenth maybe) as smart as you think you are. I think you are one of the rudest people i have come across on this site. But, i have seen times when you lost the snarky and just tried to help people. So, you do have good in you.

On the other hand, there are many times when i enjoy BarryBoomer. At the least, i think his heart is in the right place.

hi geekling I liked your response to my question mainly because most of what other folks have felt I have not yet. I feel as if I am in state of limbo with no clear directions anywhere I guess is best way to describe it. My email is bj_roberts2002@yahoo.com if you would like to chat outside WhatNext

Hi friend, I'm sorry, but what did I say that upset you? that Levi has this injury? That he might commit suicide? It's not his fault that the wreck did this to him, and so far there isn't anything that might help relieve the pain. At first he thought that he could work the muscles out- hot baths- stretching-swimming. He thought the depression was from his grandfather dying the next day. He was the main care taker, and designated by his great-uncles to handle the paperwork.

He also decided to lose some weight to make his back feel better, and did so on his own. He eats very much like you and Barry do.

Marijuana is legal here. for personal use in this county. He'll be getting a medical marijuana card, as soon as he gets his MRI. He's doing everything he can to stay off of pain killers. He doesn't do street drugs. We all are going to do the best we can for ourselves and each other. He took care of me when my mouth had surgery, thinking of things that I could get into my mouth, cooking puddings and custards.

You are very passionate! You may be correct regarding doctors - half of them are below the class average. This is one area where one must simply be their own advocate. I do listen to new ideas, yet there are so many whack jobs out there spouting trash that one must use prudence in separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. While the entire planet would love a 100% natural solution, it is clear that primitives eating 100% natural diets still got cancer. So - there is more to it at some level.

The more you delve into cancer, the more you realize that it is as complicated as the human being is. Anything which claims to be medicine must be subject to scientific scrutiny, otherwise there may be nothing other than anecdotal evidence that it has any value at all. And, time spent partaking of untried or unproven therapies can be time lost to cancer. My dad tried an alternative and promptly got worse and died. He would probably have died anyway, but his hope fell prey to hype.

In matters of life or death, I think it best to go with that which is proven.

Hi. I read something you wrote about eating cherries and strawberries together for a week. But I can't remember why or how it helped specifically. Can you refresh my memory? Thanks. Hope you are having a good day.

@geekling, I think you may be the only person on this board who believed that my post ridiculed Barry. (Who is disparaging who now?) My post had NOTHING to do with ridiculing anyone. Barry frequently posts how medical science has come up with nothing in decades. It turns out that FACTS show differently. I thought he would be glad to see those FACTS. I surely was. Most cancer survivors would be VERY pleased to see that the chances of survival are much greater today than they were a few decades ago.

And, @geekling, the post to @Molly72's wall is one of your friendly posts that I mentioned knowing you are capable of posting!!! It is good to see it here!!! Great advice there, I am sure!

    Hey geekling,
Thanks so much for your advice & suggestion about the fruit. Last night we ate the first batch of strawberries from our garden. Very yummy & totally different from those big tasteless ones from California. We live in Michigan, so our crops are harvested on a different time than you in sunny FL.
Cherries (best in the country!) are from Northern MI & are ready later on in the summer. So you may be assured that I will be eating lots of fruit this summer. The wild blackberry bushes had a bad time this winter & most of the patches are dead.

We live on a lake out in the country, & have a fairly healthy lifestyle. But my Rheumatoid Arthritis, a totally different disease from regular Osteoarthritis, makes it extremely difficult to exercise- even walk. It is an auto-immune disease, even affecting my lungs.
My hands are a mess, I can barely bend them on bad days, and my toes feel like they are headed the same way. What a kvetcher I am!! Sorry.

As I mentioned, my Rheumatologist really wanted me to try this new chemo, Retuxin, & that really made my lungs worse. The regular rheumatoid drugs never helped. Now I am under the care of some Pulmonary dr. He doesn't know what to do & can't figure out how to help (Imagine that!)
As of now, I am off the chemo drugs. Nothing helped. Never again will I take any scarey ^$#* like that.
So I just keep truckin' on.
Write any time you want, I listen & keep an open mind!

Geekling I have a question for you. I have something on my bottom. I just noticed it about a year ago and I believe that it is growing. At my last exam I asked my gyn oncologist about it. She said that it looked like a collapsed hemorrhoid and I shouldn't worry. I asked if a biopsy was possible. She consulted a colorectal surgeon and he said that that he could remove it but it would be cosmetic surgery not covered by insurance (WTF), My friend (not a member of the cancer clique) is urging me to get a second opinion. What do you think.

Radiation results are also affected by general health- like a soda other than root beer. The phosphates-which root beer doesn't have, leach the calcium out of the blood stream. In order for the organs to survive, they, in turn, leach the calcium out of the bones. That sets up quick bone degeneration, and pernicious anemia-where a quick course of iron pills don't hardly work at all. And, yes, light radiation doses keeps working for months after the treatments stop. I do want to thank you for trying to keep it simple and encouraging for this person.

    hello geekling
I am thankful to read your posts. I saw a health drink under your photo and video section "My Flu Shot" and wondered if you would ever get a flu shot. Also, I hope you don't mind me asking how the in home mold was detected. Blessings to you.

I've been diabetic for 51 years. I can barely remember NOT keeping an eye on my diet, in some form.
Dense breast tissue is evidently a reason for more concern with DCIS, according to the information I've located. I've looked at info from the Mayo Clinic and the Komen group.

Haven't been able to get ahold of moringa yet but yes, I am well aware of it and should be able to grow it here -- I'm in Melrose, Fl. I do have a green house too. I am growing Malabar Spinach like crazy! Love my squash. Tons of herbs. Tomatoes. Grapes, figs, blueberries, clementines, grapefruit, lemons, keylimes, muskidines, banana peppers, I also dry the edible flower petals

I don't know of any gynological radiologist but maybe you can try a gyno oncologist. They have a great group at the University of Tennessee or call MD Anderson for input since you are willing to travel.

Hi Geekling. I signed on for 39 treatments. Finished 25. I think the Lupron is worse than the radiation, but all will be worth it to win. I will try the remedies you have suggested. Good luck and a long happy life to you.

Hi geekling. My 18 year old has colon cancer with mets. I was interested in chaga mushroom and nigella sativa oil. Does this work on colon cancer? Where in Egypt do you get the NS Oil? I have never heard of this oil before. Do you know whether lots of people use it?

thanks for the advice Geekling! It's funny about "the body knows what it needs" as her other cravings are for bacon and Dairy Queen cheeseburgers (which she never touched before :) ) I guess her body is deciding to get fat into her any way it can!

It was a staggering drunk at a nightclub...please stay out of my business I have asked you to leave me alone and you won't do it. I don't know what your problem is, but everybody is entitled to their opinions, I don't agree with yours I don't put you down. If you do this again I will report you to WhatNext because you are breaking policy. Please just leave people alone!!!!

Hi Geekling, You seem to be attacking my views personally now which is extremely inappropriate. We are all asked for our opinions and allowed to give them. But it is not OK for any of us to cut down the opinions of other cancer patients. Please control yourself, and I hope that we can agree to disagree.
