Thank you very much for your input on my question. Wow. A lava lamp is a really cool tool. Do you just watch it and it acts kind of like self-hypnosis? You just focus on that to let your mind and body relax into sleep? I'm trying to imagine that, since I never owned one. But I do like them. I'll let the community know when my book is published.0December 2014

Hi - I saw your post. Sorry you are having issues with your drains. I had mine pulled out on Tuesday and had some staples removed today. Yes it is an emotional rollercoaster and I am ready to get off!
I know what you are going through and I feel your pain. Hang in there. For the party wear a high neck shirt - that's the kind of clothes I am wearing. Hard to do that though when it is 100 degrees!0May 2014 -
Sleep- I feel for you. As a child I had the ability and learned to sleep any time, anywhere. I could stay up and work for 20 or more hours during round up, then eating a very heavy me and sleeping over 24 hours. As a school teacher getting up before 5 and meeting that school bus at 7. During college, working on a project until 5:30 am-getting 2 hours sleep and getting to the next class at 9. My husband had many of your problems, and he got mad at me, bc the minute my head hit the pillow, I passed out. I felt so sorry for him. He was so stressed out.
I wish you well.0February 2014 -

Hi roadrunner, just checking in to see if you are OK. Still tired? Now that you are done with treatments will you be taking tamoxifen? I am biding my time as I have a casserole in the oven. Hope this finds you with a little more hitch in your giddyup!0October 2013

I read a note where you said you were too tired to eat. Although I completely ubnderstand what you were saying, you MUST eat if you ever want to feel well again.
Those little easy peel oranges are in season now and they can quench your thirst (if you neglect to eat it is almost a sure thing you are dehydrated even if you say you drink water)
If you are still in treatment, buy a juicer. It will really help. The only hard part is cleaning it and that is why the good Lord allowed dishwashers to be invented. If you are done with the pleasures of cancer treatment, get a high speed blender. they are easy to clean and will make everything from smoothies to soup to nut blended cheese.
Cans and packaged foods have zero nutritional value except for what the can or box has been fortified with after sterilization.
Chew on carrot, celery, eat green leaves. Buy the triple washed products. I remember when a "meal" was a few bits of melon. every little bit helps. Just get something fresh dow, Try eating a whole and fresh ripe red Bell pepper.
Of course, if you have mouth sores, that is a whole different ball game.
Best healthy wishes.0October 2013 -
Welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.0July 2013

Hi Roadrunner, I too was Stage 1 with a B. I had a lumpectomy, radiation and now on tamoxifen. I see you are newly diagnosed. Your profile says you have not begun treatment. Are you and your doctor still determining your plan? Surgery, radiation, chemo? Keep strong and stay positive.0July 2013

Hi Roadrunner - just wanted to drop by and say hello and mention that I'm glad you have posted a question and gotten quite a few replies already, that's great. I see you've been debating on whether or not to undergo chemotherapy. It was a hard decision for me, too, as I am a natural therapist and for me the words "oncologist" and "chemotherapy" seemed like dirty words! Had to get over that! If it would help you any, I've got a website where I share what I did - and why - plus plenty of other information to help those going down this road right now. If I can help you at all, just let me know. I'll send you the link to my site if you'd like to read some of my "breast cancer diary". Sending hugs from Denver to Lincoln.0July 2013

Hi roadrunner,
How are you doing, now? Was thinking about you .Pray you are doing good.
riverbelle AKA Dolores0July 2013 -
Just checking in to see how you are doing? Hope you are healing well from your surgery and that your summer is going well. Did you decide to go ahead with chemo or not...I did not have chemo based on my oncotype DX score and the advice of my oncologist who thought the advantage to having chemo, in my case, would lower my risk by such a small percentage that the risks far outweighed the benefits (again, in MY case)...I took her advice and have not looked back or second- guessed myself...thinking of you...sending good wishes...God bless!0July 2013
