Thanks for your kind words. I"m happy for you that you've been able to avoid some of the "standard" treatments. May that continue forever!0May 2013

Thank you for sharing your story. It has not been an easy one at all. But I guess it's not supposed to be easy. I appreciate the perseverance you've shown in sticking to it. Continue taking care of yourself. Don't ignore the little things. Easy to do but perhaps not anymore.0May 2013

Hi KateMarie,
I hope everything is going well as you recover from surgery. This is a really good site for getting details about what people similar to you have experienced, and I've found it really helps me to know within reason what I might expect. This helps to lower my anxiety about future tests, treatments, and possible side effects. So don't hesitate to ask questions of any of us.0March 2013 -
Hi KateMarie. Welcome to the club. One thing that I did that was very helpful was bring a trusted friend to treatment plan appointments as a scribe. I'd shoot her off email questions for "the list" and she added a few of her own and we came armed with over 100 questions that we wanted answers too and "I don't know" is an answer:-) I'm probably just like any other newly diagnosed person. All I heard was 'you have cancer" (blah blah blah) you're going to die (even though that's not was said blah blah blah) and we need someone trusted to write stuff down so we can make informed decisions and choices with as much information as we can gather . (I try to verify info given me as best I can). It's your life, your "boat" so take the helm and do what you must.0March 2013

KateMarie,
Welcome to the "What Next" family. I am an oncology nurse that specializes in gyne cancers so I am always around to answer any questions you may have. There are many here with similar experiences willing to share their advice and support. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.0March 2013 -
when my oncologist/surgeon said I needed a hysterectomy I looked him in the eye and said if I didn't NEED it and he didn't like the LOOK of it to take it OUT. Which he did. Some of my friends have been supportive. Some have decided that I needed to be counseled on doing the "right thing" and it didn't seem to matter to them if I agreed or not. I simply will not talk to them about my disease or treatment. I love them, I'll talk with them on any other subject under the sun but if they can't support my very personal journey then they can't be a part of it. Period.0March 2013

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/endometrial-uterine-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend

Hi Kate. Welcome to What Next. There are lots of really great people here. I was diagnosed w/endometrial cancer in July 2012, found during a hernia repair. So I understand going in for one procedure and having your life turned upside down. If you have any questions, you'll see a question tab up at the top. If you post there, the entire network will have access and someone should pop up w/some help. I'm so glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here. I hope you find this site as helpful and supportive as I have. Wishing you the best.0March 2013
