Goodmorning Maryedythe, I hope this day brings you lots of good things. I'm so glad I found this website cause I don't have many bladder cancer survivors here to chat with face to face. We do have an ostomy support group but it has dwindled down a lot. It was so helpful to me after I came home from my surgery. How are you feeling today? I can hardly imagine all you've been through and you still seem to have a good attitude. I could relate to what you said about no energy, mine is pretty good these days but I still tire quicker. I take a nap almost every day and go to bed early. I was so lucky that my husband was such a good care giver during those days of healing when I could only be up for short periods, he did a great job keeping up with the cleaning, cooking and watching over me. I hope you have someone or even several someones to help you out too. Take care and have a lovely day.

Aloha MaryEdythe, I am a bladder cancer survivor since April 2007, I thought my life was over when my dr. told me I would have to have a Urostomy. It was quite a shock and certainly changed my life overnight. However, I happen to believe in prayer and faith and this experience has shown me that I can be happy if I choose to be. I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends who have encouraged me along this path and my doctors too. I had my surgery done at Queens Hospital in Honolulu, they had closed circuit tv in my room and I kept it on a channel that ran beautiful pictures of gorgeous scenery along with inspirational messages and music. I was 67 at that time. I hope that you will have a lot of positive good come to you through this experience. I will be sending prayers your way.

MaryEdythe, I want you to know I've been thinking of you. Don't think my lack of correspondence doesn't mean I am not praying for you please. This site was a blessing for me this year. I've been tied up at work (I'd like to tie a few people up believe you me!) I tend to be a workaholic; but I did get good news on my first follow-up ( my surgery for uterine cancer was 3/25)...no cells detected. It's really quite a cool thing, really incredible. So I have tried to keep up with a lot of things at home and I have overdone it - like most of us women we think we are superheros and most of the time we are except during post-op and recuperation. Sometimes I still wonder did this really happen to me? You are a brave woman....
